Belo...Slugs?...you must be from the Southern Tier...LMAO!!!

This happens when you have a Government entity that lies to it's public...When you are told that license prices are to go up exponentially one year and again in the next few years to follow, then offered a special deal...You fall for the sales pitch and take the deal...Unfortunately what we were told was a bold face lie. Getting skrood by NY State is all too common anymore.

Dats right...I'll bite'em wif my one good toof too!

The one my wife got me is a Bounty Hunter...I really haven't had a chance to use it much, I did take it up to where my Great Grandparents house burnt and hunted around there one day...Found some cool old door hinges, a fancy top to an old woodstove and a gazillion square cut nails...Supposedly my Great Grandfather's coin collection disappeared during the fire some think it is still there and others think a fireman took it. The house burnt back in the 1930's...Who knows someday I may just find that collection.

I remember many years ago people were weighing their vest and posting the results on different message boards...I fondly remember mine back in the day coming in at 52lbs!!! Now in my advanced years I knew I couldn't haul around 52 lbs of crap plus the 52 pounds of fat I've packed on that's why I switched...LOL

I saw where they brought in a team of shrinks to console the kids tramatized by the gun shaped poptart...I can tell you right now the only kid tramatized was the fat kid that saw 3/4 of a perfectly good poptart go to waste! This is just pure overreaction by a bunch of whiney a$$ city folk that have no clue what a real gun looks like!

Impressive set...He'll be a real dandy this year!!! I walk my butt off every spring and never find anything!

Going out this weekend to see what's on my property...Sadly it's hit or miss on my land but my lease holds a few huntable toms each year.

Doc our payments are lower due to the interest rate of 3.79%...With all of the work we have done to our house the values has tripled (no lie) from what we paid for it 10 years ago... A lot of sweat-equity and careful planning really paid off! Virgil...That's a damned good rate!

Welcome aboard Jerry!!!

Thanks Belo...The "Teens" dad took that pic. G-man I'm with you on the mesh or anything else extra on my back...I sweat like a hawg anymore...Oh BTW we still get snow up here sometimes in May...Just a couple of years ago I had a nice tom coming in and it started to spit snow, before he got into range it was snowing so hard I lost sight of him and then he busted me moving trying to see where he was...Freakin flakes were the size of dollar bills floating down...LOL

We just refinanced for a 30 yr mortgage to get a better intrest rate #1, but also to build a garage...As it turned out we also lowered our payment by $100.00 and once the garage is done we will have a nice little nest egg to draw off of now that I'm being furloughed by the Federal Government...So taking a 30 yr mortgage really helped us. We were just lucky that our house had increased in value since we bought it.

For 20+ years I've warn turkey vests to carry way more crap than I really need. They were always heavy, hot and uncomfortable to wear, so last spring I did away with the vest and went with a hip pouch...Best move ever!!!...I am much more mobile, I'm not sweating my butt off when the temps hit the 60's and I have less room to carry things I don't need. In the pouch I carry an assortment of mouth calls, shotgun shells, range finder, clippers for cutting limbs, 1 pot call, a few strikers and that's it...Then I have a holster for my long box which gets the most use anyway and it all fits on a wide leather belt...Plus I carry a turkey lounger chair so I don't need the pad to set on. You can just see the holster in the picture, I'm the one in the back with the bored teenager looking at me (One of those quiet mornings with very litte gobbling)...The next morning he killed his biggest bird ever.

I wouldn't wait for them to tell me...I am always packing a pistol anytime I'm up there just for that reason.

Dry Hill...Right across the road from my hunting property...Tons of fun setting in a treestand and you hear "Rodriquez, Fernandez and Jackson report to the office"...Somedays they sound like they are right next to you!
-
Well now with ammo being so scarce maybe I should purchase a Henry if they come pre-loaded...LOL

Here in Jefferson my taxes are no where near $1000.00 for 3 1/2 acres and my 140 acre hunting land is only $1500.00...BUT we have a prison, a mall and a shopping center that offset our taxes for my township...Outside of my township the taxes got up a lot!

I have never dealt with them myself and this was the first experience I had heard anyone had had with Henry Rifles. He did get it fixed for free which is good, I'm just not sure why they gave him a run around to get it sent back. Sounds like everybody else had a good experience with them from what I'm reading. Ants none of the kids took it out because he didn't have any ammo until this past summer, he picked some up just before he tried to fire it and thats when he discovered it wouldn't take a shell in the chamber.

A friend of mine had always wanted a Henry Arms Golden Boy in .45 cal. So 2 years ago his kids bought him one for his birthday and he couldn't have been prouder of owning it. After admiring it for a while he stuck it in the gun cabinet to wait for warmed weather to do some shooting...Well as time would have it, he got very busy and didn't get a chance until this past summer. That's when I got the pannicked call that he couldn't get a round in the chamber. I went over and looked it over and decided he needed to send it back to Henry to see what is wrong with it since the round would only go 3/4 of the way into the chamber. I figured they didn't cut the chamber to it's full depth. At any rate he fought with them most of the summer trying to get an RMA number so he could ship the gun back and never recieved one...So he took it to the local store where it was purchased and they sent it back for him. Henry states that there was a blown cartridge in the chamber, how the hell could that be since the gun has never been fired?!?!?!?!?...I think they proof fired it and it was their cartridge that blew in there...The owner of the store got it fixed for my friend for free but I think I'll stay away from Henry Arms!

Awesome video...Great attitude, great outlook on the situation! -
Congrats on a dandy ADK buck!!! I'm pretty sure your Grandfather had something to do with your luck, I know the year I lost my Dad I killed one of my biggest bucks ever...The emotions were high that day as I'm sure you know.

I unfortunately got suckered in...When they raised the prices and said the prices were going to go up again over the next few years I decided to take their special offer on a Lifetime License. I'm POed to hear what they are doing with the money but I'm even more POed that they have essentially "lowered" the price of hunting licenses even though all they really did was eliminate some license requirements.

Wow...It's ridiculous what they made you go through just to retain your CCW...Glad it worked out for you!!! They are pretty lax up here in Jefferson County, although when I moved back here after a short stay in St. Lawrence County they did look at me like I was from mars...Well after looking at my picture on my permit I guess it was warranted since I did look like I just got out of prison...LOL
