I would much rather have an "Assault Rifle" for home defense since they are shorter and more maneuverable in a home defense scenerio then a shotgun with 28" barrels...Joe Biden is Obama's first line of Security from Impeachment, because he is next in line to fill Barry's shoes...Well played Barry..Well Played!

I've used "turkey hunting" tactics on several occasions with great success...I'm a caller so I'm never quiet in the woods, either rattling, grunting or fawn bleating, depending on what I want to shoot...So I'll use my turkey seat and set up next to a big tree looking into the wind. Once had a doe come in from behind me and walk past me at 10 feet during ML season one year...She was so concerned for the fawn she heard bleating she paid absolutely no attention to me.

I'm using a set of antique horse drawn discs and spring tooth harrows...I bust up the ground with the discs, "Drag" off the vegetation with the harrows set light, then keep setting them deeper until I powder up the soil...Works well but it is a lot of work dumping the crap out of the harrows until you get it all dragged off...Here's a picture of one of my foodplots where the clover is just comming up...you can see the equipment in the background...

What kind of a design are you looking for?...I've been doing graphics for over 10 years...My avitar is one of my designs.

That was my very first experience turkey hunting...A friend of mine took me out for the first time when the season opened here up north, had a bird tearin up the woods and the thunder was rollin...the bird was right in front of me somewhere but I just couldn't see him and the next thing you know the skies opened up and we got soaked. The bird shut up and we never saw him...We too left to go dry off...I've been hooked ever since...LOL

Long box start to finish for me...Locate'em then pull them in with soft purrs and clucks...BOOM!

I'm with SteveB on this one...They warned of a hike in license fees then offered a deal on Lifetime Licenses, I fell for it and now the little Boy King is going to lower the prices...WTF?!?!?!?!?...I want a rebate! Then think about this, he wants to support sportsmen and make it easier to get a hunting license, but what the heck are we supposed to hunt with he wants to take our guns...Make up my freakin mind!

Awesome long tines...I'm used to seeing the squatty short tined bucks from here in Northern NY...Real beauty there, Congrats!

Best advise ever is to NOT DO IT!!!...It is the most addictive thing you will ever do...Turkeys have been known to make a grown man cry (it was not a proud moment) and it can become down right personal...They ain't as dumb as they look! But if you insist on doing this, talk to some of the local folks and find out where the turkeys "Are" during the spring, seeing them in a field now doesn't mean they will be there come May...Read as much as you can on the subject, ask plenty of questions and hang on cause it's going to be a bumpy ride.

The way that call is made removing the bad side and replacing it would be a tough job, it would require running it over a tablesaw blade to remove the wood in the "Groove" then making a piece to fit in the groove and hope the saw blade doesn't cut to wide a curf...You'd also have to make a filler piece to keep the call from tipping due to the other side still having a lip on it...Gluing a piece on and reshaping it would make it look better but it won't sound very good...It might still be alright as a one sided call...I'd like to look at it though.

Holy Moly EspressoBuzz...That was a while ago...We haven't seen Northern Lights here since I was a kid!!! It is a very beautiful area, but the Ft. Drum Expansion is making it more "City like" than I care to see....You should swing through and see the changes!

Thanks guys...Lee it sounds like you may need a new one...

That's funny!!!...I once managed a Hunting Club in the Adirondacks and had a club member from NY City show to camp with a freakin Porsche 911...I so wanted him to get a deer but alas he was a terrible shot!

That is down right scary to think some idiot would actually promote that as a way to defend yourself...What a freakin moron!

Hey Dan good to see you again!!!...To be honest I haven't posted or checked out Mywildside in about a year...I got sick of the grade school humor that was persistant over there.
