  1. That Daisy looks just like my first one, which my Dad bought me in a bout 1957, except mine shot BBs....Killed a bunch of barn sparrows ( plus a few birds that I was NOT suspposed to shoot) with that gun along with my first BIG GAME....Chipmunks....
  2. No manis, pedis, or massages gives you 3 points on your Man Card.....Not carrying a jackknife is a MINUS 2 points.....So you are still up a point.....You are still welcome to have a beer and a shot with me... Farting a few times and scratching your balls in public might add a point or two.....
  3. I don't give a shit...But with a hairdo like that, John Denver HAD to be a little light in the loafers.... As far as veggies go, I have eaten about a dozen cukes, half a dozen Zukes ( harvested small as Otto says...Never argue with a Sicilian about zucchinni, and I dug my garlic today, about 80 bulbs which were overall disappointing..A few dinks, a few jumbos, but mostly on the small side of medium....... My pole beans are blossoming, but no beans yet....
  4. I'm going to swim a stickbait around one of the walleye holes in my local river this morning for an hour or so... After that, I'll take my screen and hoe and see if I can catch a few dobson, my favorite summer bait for bass and perch....
  5. Doesn't Biz carry a pocketknife ? I thought every country boy had a jackniife.....
  6. I threaded a couple of pineapple rings on " Little Clarkie" and offered it to The Mermaid.. She declined....Must be she doesn't like fruit...
  7. It would certainly work for deer out to 300 yards or so, as would 4 or 5 dozen other chamberings, some depending on what platform of rifle you prefer to hunt with....I personally prefer classic wood/blued bolt actions., but I hold no prejudice toward AR types. levers, single shot or whatever...Whatever floats your boat is fine with me, as long as you can deliver a killing shot within the ranges you desire to shoot...
  8. I took my course from Fred....Alan Johnson was another one...He and I attended high school together...I know AL is still alive, but he has been having health problems.
  9. Things have changed for sure..A couple of the avid active members used to be bowhunting safety instructors, but that was 20+ years ago... They may be dead by now for all I know...
  10. Which one is that, Rob ?? Painted Post ? Last I knew Corning was very much into bowhunting, but it's been years since I was there..They had a 3 D course at one time.. Too bad...A sportsman's club should cater to all shooting disciplines... Our club here in Dogpatch has always been basically a skeet and trap club, although we do have an informal rifle range and pistol shooting butt..
  11. Yeah, and you,re just a YOUNG pup, Bill.....Hehehehe...
  12. I'm elderly, but I have no interest using a weapon that does not burn powder... If bowhunting is your hobby, FINE as long as you don't consider yourself superior to those whose hobby is NOT bowhunting....That said I killed half a dozen whitetails and an elk with a compound. I would have happily shot every one of them with a rifle and been as happy as a clam if it were legal...Once again..Bowhunting snobs who think they are superior to the rest of because they choose to do things differently.
  13. Yeah.....Sure......Hehehe...
  14. Don't wait up for the shrimp boats, Momma, cuz I'm coming home with the crabs...
  15. Down here in the Finger Lakes, a popular method is to troll tandem streamers ( Locally known as " woodchucks") with a fly rod over deep water for suspended smallies chasing alewives( locally known as sawbellies)…. It is quite a thrill to be holding a fly rod trolling about 5MPH when a 3 or 4 pound smallmouth loads up on it....
  16. I caught that too...Dam sexist pig !! They are NOT all the same ...Some are much bigger PITAS than others....<<grin>>….
  17. The snake is VERY cool....I can count the number of blacksnakes I have seen on one hand, but they are very impressive creatures...
  18. Tacks just offered to get it to me...It will be my beer/deer garage fridge...My old one just crapped out on me recently.. Thank you for your generosity and a big thanks to Tacks for helping me out ...
  19. That would be great, Tacks !! Thank you very much !!
  20. I'm near Corning , in southern Steuben County...
  21. Tim...I'd love to have it, but am not sure when I'll be getting up that way.....
  22. Another " bowhunting snob"....I say this having not the LEAST interest in using a crossbow...
  23. Good idea, My Friend...Don't burn yourself out..It's a long summer....
  24. Hey, I'm a veteran too, you know....<<GRIN>>….
