    JAWS!!!

I went to FedEx last week to send a package to my SIL. Nothing oversized, they wanted $90 to get it there “before Christmas” I agreed to the least expensive cost of $40 which “may arrive before” She got it in two days anyway. There was a young man in front of me shipping gifts to his niece and nephew, they quoted him $371 for guarantee deliver because of the box size. He said Thats twice what these gifts cost! It ended up costing him $95. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Man, you are a truly amazing person and I hope you know that you and yours are in all of our thoughts and prayers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So, I try to be a positive and motivated person for the most part. This week, durning a virtual meeting with colleagues from across Europe, the US and SEA, someone asked this very question. It sparked a great and lengthy end of year virtual meeting. We were all inconvenienced greatly this year, some suffered losses but all found good things in our lives over the last 10 months. We all complained about the usual things, social life, concerts, dinners at nice places and so on and laughed at some of the regional rules, but all were accompanied by things like “I got to really know and loved helping my neighbors, I learned to play the guitar or I am now an amateur chef”. It was a really nice way to end our “work year” and final meeting. I simply thought I would post it here to perhaps bring a little positivity to the group. Well, now I’m sorry I did, I just read that a very respected and loved member of this group is going through something very bad and very real right now. It is heartbreaking. I also talked to two members personally in the last couple of months who have lost family members this year. I think out of respect of these friends we lock this up and let it fade away. I did not realize the possible insensitivity of it when originally posted. My best wishes and prayers are with all of you who have suffered this year. Lock it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yes, sound like most the country and world right now, we all have a laundry list of things like this. The intent of the thread was to try to end the year on the up, and point out some good things and not be so focused on the obvious negatives of 2020. Hopefully you will have a better 2021! Be positive! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Nice! Way to wrap it up! Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Wow! He’s a beauty! Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Do you think they feel those people are more important? I wonder if they are looked at as an expendable “test” group by our government. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Beer

Oh damn...Cherry Creek is out! We’ll have to arrange a sit down in a more civilized place opening weekend next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I started getting things organized and washed last week. I’m about 90% done, but there is still a lot of stuff in my truck. Hopefully I’ll be done by end of the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Beer

Yes, but you will have to meet us at “The Barr” in Cherry Creek. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I will be out running around tomorrow and will check the few stores I saw it at. If still there I’ll grab it for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have never had any luck finding a single bird in WNY release sights after deer season. But, I was still out trying and that can be just as enjoyable at times. I used to hit the preserves in the late season if I actually wanted to shoot a bird or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Team weak!? At least you’re on a team... “I could have been a contender!” Damn rules... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Why are you asking? Is it for sale, are you taking offers? I’m always looking for more 12 ga. But why not just say what you want for it? I saw a member was looking for a specific 30-06 round and I came across a box a few weeks later for $40, I grabbed it and offered it to him for exactly what I paid for it. I didn’t ask for offers... 16. That and 350 legend are all I have seen on the shelves in my area of WNY. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Haha! I stopped at BK in Silver Creek for a whopper on the way home from most of my hunts this year. Sooo good at the time... until I hit the Rez 1 mile down the road and wanted to puke in my cup holders! But I still did it the next day over and over again! Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Gander in Hamburg had a good supply of waterfowl loads on Sunday when I was there, if anyone is looking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. CEO of Hornady posted a similar video within hours of this one. It seems they are all doing the best they can. 7 million new gun owners in 2020 x 100 rounds each (conservative estimate) is 700,000,000 more rounds needed in the marketplace. No way they can keep up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. If you want to hit my spot, just call me, I’ll send you a map to my best stand! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. With all of the chaos and craziness of 2020, we have been hearing a lot of negative crap about everything. Well, I for one, am really thankful for quite a few things this year and dare to say my life is better in many ways because if all of this nonsense. For one, I learned I can work from home and be even more productive, more creative, work more hours and have nearly all of the stress of my job removed. Even better is that my company recognizes this as a trend in all departments, globally, and is now embracing the new work model for long term implementation. I will be leaving NYS if this happens! Fiscal responsibility. I took a significant pay cut in March when the shutdown started, I learned I can not only live on less, but save more on less! That being said, I am really looking forward to my salary going back to normal January 1st. Family. Working from home allowed my wife and me to become care providers for our granddaughter while our daughter in law started a new business. I have been so lucky to have the opportunity to spend two days a week with her and watch her grow, learn to walk, learn to speak, and so much more that I would have never experienced. Zoom meeting with her on my lap have become the norm and even my coworkers in Liechtenstein, Germany and Switzerland look forward to her weekly input. Even if it’s a drink or toy being thrown at the screen when she hears her name with a German accent, or another child or dog chiming in unexpectedly. Great times and memories that would never have happened in a normal year. Motorcycles. Oooh yeah, Fatboy_D may be back! I spent many hours and hundreds of miles on one of my friends 2020 CVO Street Glides this summer (he bought 2 when he heard HD was stopping production in the spring, one for each of his kids and a CVO ultra classic for himself, don’t ask, he is in a different world than ALL of us...) and am now looking at getting back into riding. Wife is excited about it so it’s probably a done deal. Hunting. Working from home and a flexible schedule allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted in the woods this year. ‘Nuff said about that.... These and so much more GOOD came out of this year. How about you? What good did you discover during this crazy time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. You are more than welcome to next year! Maybe we can actually put Biz on a shooter??!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It would be difficult for me not to say I had a great season, but as happy and grateful that I am for the two beautiful bucks I took, I was alone while doing it. Both of my boys had pivotal years in their careers and new father responsibilities that took priority and both were virtually unable to hunt, but a few days each. I am so proud and excited for them, but it was a bit sad being out there, for the most part, alone. In fact, the 15 minutes when Tacks stopped by the lease to pick up ammo he has absolutely no use for was the social highlight of my season! Do you want your beer back!! Lol! I did see a lot of deer during bow season, mostly young bucks that provided shot opportunities nearly every sit. The endless stream of trail cam pics of 5 shooters on the property kept me coming back and the excitement high. I had no interest in shooting does, which was all I saw for the first two weeks of rifle, and not very many, but I was confident in the stand location and ultimately rewarded with one of those does finally being dogged by a big buck in December. Even better was my wife of 33 years being as excited as I about putting TWO new mounts on the wall this year! All in all a great season accented by a stiff reminder of how important doing all of this with the ones we care about really is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. You’re having a great season! Congrats and good luck with Samantha tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
