I was wondering if the new elk farm that there gonna open is gonna have any effect on the deer in the area

Wife tells me to be home by 4. We gotta be ready and out the door by 5. Guess what? She hasn't begun to even get ready for a family that we had to be to by 5:30. I lost 3 hours of hunting time. I say I'm glad I got ready by 5. You think after 5 years I would have learned to shut my mouth. Sorry had to vent somewhere I won't get yelled at. Lmao

Rite after I posted the thread I saw a nice 8 chasing a doe. Got out it my climber to scout out a few other places. Got back to it and packed it all up. Took two steps and a doe tqn about ten yards and watched me set up in a different tree

am I wasting my time hunting in this wind

I ordered a sling along with a set of strings and cables tonite. Pro shop couldn't find anything wrong. But did say I should get new string. He also said I may have snagged a branch.

I just noticed my string was slightly of my cam. 2009 diamond iceman. I didn't draw it today. Idk if it happened walking in or out of my stand today.

Lots of deer on state land on bartel rd near the Indian rez. My buddy always gets a nice buck during shotgun season. He is always trying to get me to go with. I stay well away from there during gun season.

This evening I had a young 4 point about 40 yards away doing a scrape. He got about 10 yards from my doe pee wick started huffing and puffing. Turned around and ran back to area he came from. Ran back near pee wick huffed and puffed. Did this for good half hour than walked away. I let out a few bleats Idk half hour before he came in sight. He didn't give me a chance to shoot cuz he ran like a nut. This morn I had a monster 8 point that got in range and I blew it. Didn't end up firing. Anyway the monster didn't even notice the doe pee. I think it was cause he was upwind of them. I may try an estours drag in the morn.

I'm on the border of Niagara and Erie county and its not to bad on the woods. Knocking a lot of leaves of the trees. Getting a lil easier to see things coming.

Just a lil. Taking last bow season off cause of my first child being born really messed me up a bit. I feel like its my first season ever. I don't get I was cool and calm til I put the pin on him

Ya no doubt. I forgot my harness this morn. Good thing I have a few double stand with big platforms. Sucks cuz I wanted set up the climber in near the bedding areas and get up to about 30 feet.

I had monster 8 point come within shooting range. I drew back on him as soon as I got the pin where I wanted I started shaking like crazy. Biggest buck I ever saw from a tree stand. Idk what happend I watched him start heading my way from about 60 yards. Kept telling myself stay calm. But as soon as I had the pin where I wanted it started shaking. I should have fired. By the way wind calmed down.

I feel like I'm a boat instead of a tree stand.

Anyone use these? Are they any good

Is it a bad idea to hunt the same place every day? Or is it a good idea to lay off for a few days?

I think I got my mind tuned to it just like practice when I get a deer close enough. I noticed I'm a lot more calm when I see them coming. Haven't had anything come close enough to where I'm comfortable at making a clean kill shot. First two deer I ever took with my bow I watched them suffer cause I was out to just get a deer to brag. It was disturbing and I really couldn't enjoy eating it. So now I wait til there in my comfort range of 15 yards and in my cleared out shooting lanes. Im a good shot up to about 40 but I really don't wanna chance it. When i tell ppl I had a nice buck at 30 yards. And say I wasn't comfortable taking the shot I hear a lot of crap. I really don't care lol
