  1. Fantail that is very similar to what I do. Snowshoe in with a pack and place small objects in a sled. Takes me 1.5-2 hours to go 3.5 miles into camp
  2. Yea once I figured out the guy loaded the picture wrong, I can see that it has features of a dog or critter of that size
  3. What is the law currently if someone was to shoot them? Are they considered to be a species of open season or are they protected under some law from hunting?
  4. How do you even make that appear from those angles ha I am thinking you are yanking my chain on that response ha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I was on another group that I am apart of and someone put this images up asking for any ideas on what they might be. To be honest I have no idea what they could be, assume by comparing it to the stump it would be under 30 pounds so maybe a raccoon, but I wanted to see if anyone has a better idea. NOTE: THESE ARE NOT MY PHOTOS
  6. I agree with Phade, NY Outdoor News is the best subscription I have signed up for. I want to say it is roughly $25 for 2 years and full of information for every season.
  7. Dead lake can be a tricky little place to fish, Nice fish out of there though, Congrats!
  8. "So that is the box indoor cats poop in, I must become an Indoor cat" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Damn that is an awesome deer, congrats to him on a buck on a lifetime. Also I know when I hunt alone I can't really get a good picture, trying to handle a deer of that size and take a "selfie" just doesn't seem to feasible. Be happy for the hunter and careless about what someone is wearing in the picture.
  10. Question, If the 5.45x39 compares to the .223 which is similar to the 6mm Rem, I would play devils advocate and say that within its capabilities it could be used for a successful deer round. It is not my first choice or something I would practice but a 6mm is a suitable round for whitetail.
  11. I have seen a couple cougars at the bars near camp, but that sits 5 miles outside of the ADK park so I guess they don't count =/
  12. I know NY allows for 1.5 fluid ounces of a liquid for baiting while bear hunting in NYS, So if you dipped the wick into the grease while it was still hot it might pass, but this is all pure guessing. I have also heard of people bringing a metal coffee can into the woods stuffed with marshmellows and burning them so the burnt sugar scent would be in the woods. I don't know the legality on that either, but as you said I will only shoot a bear if I am in danger, I am not overly interested in what they have to offer so I just like to get pictures of them.
  13. Same thing goes for where I hunt. The bears main travel trail that I set cams up leads to a food source (Beechnuts and berries) and in areas where generally there are not a lot of people hunting. I pick up most of the bears at night and overcast days on camera too, never really seen them during sunny bright days.
  14. College has drained me in many ways, one being my bank account. Snowshoes will be my friend for the next 12 or so years ha
  15. The camp I am a member of is about 3.5 miles away from where they stop plowing. Every year that there is a good enough base, I pull out the snowshoes and shoe back into camp with my dad. Every year we ask why do we put ourselves through it, but in the end it is so peaceful and relaxing out there that it is worth it. (Planning this years trip for Feb. 22 depending on the snow)
  16. I loved it, it is a good movie and all but I am shocked it is still selling out ha
  17. Thanks! And those stalker's are another awesome bow, I wish I had short arms for all these awesome older recurves, But I have a real gem for my main shooter.
  18. That was the first bow I was looking at, I believe those are a 48 inch bow right?
  19. Hahaha Thanks it is a beauty, short bows and my long arms just don't mix well, So I was hoping to find someone who will love it as much as I do.
  20. 1975 Browning Wasp 98% mint other then the two bubbles picture, Comes with newer string, nocked and limb silencers. 50#'s at @28 inches, 56 inch overall length. This bow is perfect for draws under 28 inches, I pull to almost 30 so it is just too short for my draw. $150 Firm Located in Argyle,NY Buyer pays shipping
  21. Do we know what kind of sandwiches he offers on the hunt?
  22. Does anyone know of any companies on Lake Champlain that still rents out Shanties for Ice Fishing? I remember hearing about a place I thought was Shanty Village but I can not find any information on it at all. Also if you know of other lakes that have a rental place too, I am all ears.
  23. Maybe he will smarten up and see politics are not his cup of tea and sponsor a strong Republican Candidate or someone who is atleast more open minded than Cuomo
