geno, have not been out much,couple weeks ago was training my dogs and my swiss hound was hit by a car and killed, so been kind of down. How have you been? Do you work on saturdays?

I know a great guide in NYS, he is true gentleman, and honest as can be, his website is www.rrguideservice.com, his name is chris, tell him anthony from bellmore kennels long island recommended. Spoke to him few days ago, there is NO Snow.

I was invited by Frank from FJM beagles to go on a hunt yesterday on some private farms he hunts, had a good morning, but was a crazy windy afternoon,wind gusts close to 50mph, here is video

Guys, I hate to be the one to say this, but most rabbit hunters will never give up their spots with fear of getting shot out.
I usually hunt long island and belong to gun club in orange county, as far as hare , I hunt the adirondacks, but the best bet is to hire a guide up there that would show you spots. If you need the number to one ,let me know .

Had a Solo Hunt, Wind,wind and more wind. Ended up running 4, got 2 missed 1 and the other was too close to shoot and went to a hole, dogs also ran 2 pheasants, which I did not shoot at. Dogs did ok, really like my new pup Bellmores Ticked Off Sara, she actually got a check on bella and Pupe in cornfield, hard to hear over all the geese, watch the video.

Karp, yes that was me, I am teaching sara, she is 14 weeks old, that was the first time I shot over her, I have been working on the retreive with her, she almost did it, think rabbit was too heavy for her,lol.. My friends dog is having pups tonight she is a femaIe I sold him and my male is the sire, so if she really wants one.............. I wil post pics once they are born!!

I joined for 2 seasons, I understand the issue with alot hunters and not enough land. I am really not a big deer hunter , I hunt 95% rabbit. I really liked the properties upstate, and the one on hubbard was nice too,I really never seen any drinking going on, but was really tough setting up a hunt either due to other hunters hunting before me or myself not having the time when there were openings. The calling first was kind of tough, but those were the rules, which I agreed to before joining,live and learn I guess
Truth be told, I actually liked Bob,and still do.It is his business and that is how he wants to run it. Wish was not so much money to join, as I think if was less expensive people would not have high expectations. Anyway, i belong to 3 other clubs,which do not require phone calls first, and there are plenty state lands, if you do your homework, life goes on.

geno would love to bring my new little pup Sara over, she is only 3 months old and is already hunting, she needs the experience!!

Thanks karp and geno, she had pneumonia and had bacteria in her blood, she home now,still on iv antibiotics, for another 2 weeks. She also does not speak english ,so I am her translator, LOL.
Yes geno on the humidity, get a humidity guage, looks like a thermometer, and should be bet 30% and 40%, I have 2 humidifiers for house and one in kids bedroom.
Also lets try to get together maybe end of next week one eve with karp at an applebees or something, maybe on route 110 or something

Finally got out again, have not been out in a month, had a nice day in field with Frank from FJM Beagles, but very dry scenting conditions made very hard on dogs,expecting rain tonight, so should be better next time out,thanks for viewing.

Sorry have not responded guys ,have had hectic few weeks,as my mom was in hospital since before new year and I had a terrible sinus infection. Once in a while I do welcome guests, BUT, have to warn you , am really serious about safety around the dogs, no insult intended. I actually hope to set something up with 2 other board members soon. I use 20ga,28ga, and 410, I went out yesterday and will upload video soon

karp, they getting to be in good shape, have not hunted much past couple weeks, but been doing some training runs, hope get some snow soon, have nice state spots for us to hit past east hampton ,super thick, and would be nice for you and geno to see, alot deer sign.

Had a Nice Solo Hunt Today on Long Island, dogs ran all day from 830 am to around 230 pm. Ran a total of 8 rabbits and harvested 4, Very nice day to be out, very proud of dogs today!!

Geno, I have a single shot 20 guage you can use,I bring every time I go as a backup, no need to buy another gun . Good luck if you get out tomorrow, I will be hunting for a christmas tree in mattituck with wife and kids, lol..

Geno, come on don't throw in the towel yet, I check thich board every couple days hoping either you or karp bag a nice buck!!! If you do call it quits with the deer, let me know a good time frame in december we can plan a rabbit hunt.

Karp, did not get out last week, work, thanksgiving, and kids , kept me from going. I hate going when weather is too nice, alot people out enjoying the day and on the island leads to problems. My club upstate is out until deer season over, so that is out too. Might get out this week, I hope. As soon as deer season over I really want to get together for a day with you and gino. Have you been doing anymore deer hunting with bow or gun? Maybe next couple weeks we go for dinner

Well First day was a WASTE Da#%$ people dont know how to stay on there own LAND the people next to the me have 180 acres I have 60 and never had and trouble we always stayed away from the boundrys this year the guy has a stand right in the corner facing my land of course he puts some one that no speeaka the engrish or at least so he says when I tryed to talk and be a good person then after sun up three people come walking right though me and my sons stands laughing and worst of all smoking So hope to day is better seen a nice big buck ran by to fast to get a point count
Dad,sorry to hear this happen to you, this was reason I sold my own property, when the guys told me he didnt speak english, he was an italian guy, so thought would get off easy, but unfortunatley that is my other language too. Good luck,hope you get that buck you seen

After the loss of my swiss hound, I kind of layed low for a while but I decided to go out 1 last time for the season and I Finally made it up to Maine for a Hare Hunt with Joe from Double D kennels, we had a Great Trip.
Day 1- We woke up to 3" to 4" of fresh snow, and snowed pretty much all day, we ran a total of 6 or 7 Hare , and harvested 2. We both had chances to shoot at the others but were either out of position or just didnt see the hare. Dogs ran pretty well all day long.

Day 2- We woke up to sunny skies and 0 Degree weather, which warmed up to mid 20s. The morning running was a little rough on the first hare, but the dogs pulled it together on the second, as they ran him for 2 hours, and at times over 800 yards away!!
The next Hare they chased will forever live in my memories, they ran from 1130 am to close to 4pm, he crossed trails,roads,swamps,opening, thickets and never in the same spot!!! When it was all said and done, I took 20 shots at him and Joe took 3!!!! He is the Hare in Picture Above, at the end of the video,there is a pic of my garmin screen, just look at the run!!!!

The dogs on the hunt were Double D Snoop Dogg,and Bellmores Shimp, Pup E, Ticked Off Sara, Cee Cee, and Bella! They all did very well, as 3 of them have never chased Hare or hunted on snow!!
