I guess the good thing is that they might not be back(this season anyway). I'd still make sure to lock your stands. They know you saw them and they knew you were in the tree so down came the cams. Is the developer having any land clearing or work done on his parcel? Just for sh*ts I would contact him and explain. Don't leave out the crossbow part. I had the same thing happen where a neighboring developers workers were stealing fox & yotes out of my traps or the traps altogether. The thievery continued after the work was completed so the developer authorized us to post/patrol his property.

Haha! That'd be just enough to roust Mr. Remington and his cousin Ithaca!

My 7R came in the mail. A first for me in 19 years. It will get used so I'm happy

I actually coyote hunt in Delaware Co. so you're welcome. My buddy and I would gladly come down and shoot some off your land.

Welcome Bob. I plan on using my muzz a bunch this year and I'm also looking into hunting in SC when I'm there visiting my Mother. I look forward to picking your brain on those topics. Lol

They're partial to elms & cottonwods. I ruled them out right away.

Not to sound like I'm meddling in your personal affairs, but may I ask what you were even doing out there if you knew you wouldn't be able to follow up with a recovery?

If I told you it looks like neon orange to deer would you neglect to wear it? I urge every person who might be in a hunting area to wear hunter orange during gun season! Deer can see into the UV spectrum, so even camo that is seemingly awesome to us may glow bright blue to deer. Alot of camo fabric manufacturers are treating their fabrics with UV brighteners. There are products(sport wash) that are supposed to eliminate the UV.

The problem is that a year round season would not do much in the long run. Even if the numbers were reduced, the numbers will backlash due to a plethora of prey species. The yotes will start to produce larger litters to repopulate the available areas. So the year round season would better suit the sporting hunters rather than decreasing predation. Take a look at PA. They do have a year round yote season and they are considering opening a bounty on coyotes. Yotes are more sensitive to hunting pressure than deer are, so realisticly how many are really gonna be taken? It's more of a feel good measure than actually doing any sort of good. Trapping year round, not gonna happen. Running dogs year round, also not gonna happen. It wouldn't take many year round yote seasons to get deer hunters griping even more and blaming the yote hunters for causing un needed hunting pressure. Pick your battles!

Some good advice thus far, although the OPs case might differ in that he may not have trees to attach signs to. I am fortunate enough to have tree lined property and even go so far as placing 2 signs at a time. Sure someone may rip down one sign, but that same tard feels like an idiot when he/she looks up and sees the other sign that I installed with a 24' extension ladder. As far as spotlighting, that is totally different than "jacklighting". I often take my nephews out in late summer to look at deer. I maintain 500' from dwellings and never shine pastures. That being said, no person (even law enforcement) may harrass me to move my vehicle on a public roadway or to extinguish my light. Shining a light on a free roaming deer is not harrassment. Deer don't look at the sun and wig out from it, they simply turn their heads. The "mine mine mine - me me me" complex seems to bite everyone nowadays. For example, you make a report on or harrass someone lawfully lighting a field and next thing troopers are hauling you to the clink.

Amateur archaeology, wild mushroom/edible plant foraging, metal detecting, digging/collecting old bottles, researching local history. I enjoy them all equally, but making time to do them is tough.
-
Yeah Buddy! That 2 months on the run will be the last time he ever sets foot on free soil!

I know that name. Another good taxi is Jeff Balmer just 10 or so miles north of Endicott. My brother has had trout, walleye, and yotes done by him. Excellent work!

Credibility or lack therof is established with every statement or action you make. Your previous comment a few pages back proves nothing more than how illogical and simple minded you can be. Nothing more. Judgemental and righteous? Please. You're running animals down in an automobile! Can you clarify that?I've already expressed that I agree with people protecting what's theirs, but when people come bumbling around blaming wild animals for their own lack of foresight, planning, proactivity, etc. I just can't help but feel bad for them. Lol not really!
-
Ouch! Don't let your girl know that or she's gonna put the kibosh to your hunting!
-
I just figured they were either testing for pragmatic competence lmao, or using the speech-to-text function while stubbing their toes on their lower lip!
-
Well that does explain alot since you have livestock. In that case, you can protect it. The legality behind you killing yotes (may) be warranted, but your comments about having no deer left to hunt if the yotes aren't hunted 365 days a year are just plain laughable
-
Wow! Way to flush your credibility down the tubes! We're really weeding out the bad apples here lately!
-
How can the yotes get them then? So the rest of your land is what? Just woods? Unimproved farmlands? Just trying to get the whole picture.
-
The laws have been discussed. So how are coyotes harming/threatening "your" property? I've never looked into your deer farm, but I'm assuming you keep "your" deer fenced?
-
Question, so is your deer herd fenced in or not?
-
I never tried the buck bombs. They seem too gimmicky. A little scent goes a long way when you're talking about a deers sense of smell. Flooding the area with aerosol urine seems waaay too un-natural
-
I just want to make sure you're aware of the new laws on private gun sales. All firearms must be bought/sold through a FFL
