  1. I know where I got Himrod from. We used to hunt a friend's farm there years ago. Thanks for the correction. So many places to remember!
  2. You got me. Yes, the Hector Multi Use area. We also had a Red Tail Hawk dive bomb use in the spring there. It did not like my buddies red felt crusher hat!

    hi

Hello Jharvey. I live just north of Canandaigua in Manchester. Turkey is great @ here; although I often only get on opportunistically with a bow while deer hunting. A place i used to hunt was a funnel between fields and woods they would file through single file. Just wait for the slowest one! Used to run hounds for raccoons down in Dansville many years ago. Loved the sound and running through the swamps at night. Good memories!
  4. I hunt down there often. Rattlesnake Hill in Ossian, down near Arkport, Pigtail Hollow, Urbana. It is nice being Central so that those places are 1- 2 hours, areas near me 30-45 mins, and up near Wayne and Cayuga county just an hour. Nice buck. Good to meet you
  5. High Tor is a tough area. Many hunters out on opening day, which makes it the best day to get one. You just have to get back in there. Bow Hunting is good there if you scout well enough. Fringe areas are the best. Good luck
  6. Hello all, I am from the Canandaigua area. I hope all is well with everyone and I look forward to conversing with you. Hunt Likes: Small Game, Deer/Bear with bow and rifle/gun Fish: Love Bass fishing and on a hot day lazy man panfish!
  7. I see many up in the Finger Lakes National Forest upon the Himrod area. The spring is a great time to view them drumming up a storm and they do not seemed frightened off then as in the fall. Like all types of game they are always readily seen outside of the hunting season.
  8. For Androids NYS has an app called Pocket Ranger that can help. It directs most stuff back to the NYS DEC website, but has it's uses when not in front of a computer. Try it it is free! BTW i am brand new today to this forum, welcome to you and good hunting!
