  1. You must not understand what "principle" means. If they wanted to put muzzleloaders into bowseason, would you object? I'm sure most would...because they are not archery equipment, don't belong in bowseason, etc. Same principle...different dividing line. Not difficult to comprehend.
  2. Totally honest. I shouldered it the same. I aimed it the same. I flipped off the safety the same. I took a deep breath and let out half, like I do when I am shooting guns, and squeezed the trigger just like I did on my old smoothbore. Ithit the bullseye at 40 yards just as surely as I would expect with my shotgun. No difference but the boom.
  3. I think its funny when crossbow pushers characterize the placement of crossbows into gun season as a loss. I think it was brilliant positioning by NYB. They have made it so that the wording is extremely specific. Crossbows are excluded not only from bow season, but from definitions, regulations, even hunters safety. The crossbow is lumped in with firearms every step of the way. There is even very specific that crossbows cannot be allowed before the regular season....even if an early MZ is made legal. They have made it very clear that in know way should crossbows be confused with real bows. Best of all, when crossbow pushers clamor for full intrusion into bowseason we can say: "Shut up, you already have a season, now stop your whining you crybabies."
  4. Not even close, if we make n apples to apples comparison andu se a 420gn arrow like crossbows use. You are being misleading by refencing IBO..and exaggerating that, even. Bullcrap. Bullcrap. You are obviously one of those dishonest crossbow pushers I was talking about earlier. Shame on you.
  5. Nawww......they make me laugh. I know how the NYCC works.....the idea that it is representative of the sportsmen's will is laughable .
  6. I don't understand your jibberish, but..... I agree OH know who killed how many with which implement. But they do not know how many are hunting with which implement, because they do not have separate permits...or any permits, for that matter. OH assumes that the harvest ratio is the same for bowhunters and crossbow hunters, and estimates the number of hunters from the harvest data. It night be right......but it is probably not right.
  7. You know that OH doesn't sell a separate crossbow stamp and bowstamp, right? You know they just sell a deer hunting license, right? And you know that landowners don't have to buy any license, right? So tell me......how can you calculate accurate statistics when you do noy know how many hunters there are using bows and crossbows? LMFAO The Ohio DNR is content, hunters are killing deer and they are meeting their mandate. That doesn't mean their numbers are accurate.....more misinformation from the crossbow pushers. >

  9. GA claims that archery success is 50% plus......for compounds and crossbows. AND trads.
  10. I've shot one. It was no different than shooting my slug gun, minus the boom. Nothing at all like shooting a bow. As for the rest of your post....... : Inaccurate (and I am being polite) on most every point,
  11. Well we have one on the plate right now and I really hope it goes through. It needs to go through Mark my words.. the NYB will try to put the nix on it. If history repeats itself, NYB will have nothing to do with it. Crossbow pushers will lobby that crossbows should be allowed for everyone, the bills will be consolidated.....THEN ....NYB will oppose crossbows for everyone, as they should.
  12. I personally have no issue with physically challenged using crossbows, or aging hunters using crossbows. I wish everyone would work together to get it done. But crossbow pushers demand crossbows for everyone....even those who don't need it. That is where the controversy begins, and where the dishonesty starts. I would point out that one of the reasons that we do not have crossbows for the disabled is that it gets sabotaged every year by the crossbow pushers themselves. Instead of forwarding a bill SPECIFICALLY for disabled hunters, they forward multiple bills, including crossbows for everyone. When they consolidate the bills.....guess which one they go forward with? Its happened every year that I have been watching since 2005.
  13. LMAO. The crossbow pushing attack dogs have been on me since the first post.....don't lecture me about disdain. In my experience, 75%-90% of pro crossbow posters are totally obnoxious. They attack anyone who dares hold an opinion different than their own. They love to call anyone opposed to crossbows in bowseason "elitist," "selfish," and "greedy." They asign greed as everyone's motive, even when they are specifically given other motives. They are also dishonest. They mislead, misrepresent, and downright lie. "Crossbow bolts drop like a brick" and "shorter arrows cause additional drop" are good examples....what they are claiming violates physical law....yet they insist it to be true. "Crossbows and compounds are identical" and "There is absolutely no difference between crossbows and compounds" ....when any child would point out the obvious differences, every time. They regurgitate pro crossbow talking points, over and over, ad nauseum....until they actually believe it to be true. Look on the Ten point forum.....and you'll see that none of these talking points is an original thought, rather manufacturer propadanda that just gets repeated again and again. Not every crossbow advocate is a crossbow pusher......but those that are deserve my disdain.
  14. Apparently I am not in your class when it comes to ego, also.
  15. OK, genius....now that we have handloaded our cartridges so they launch different weight bullets at the same velocity......calculate the rest of the equation and derive the answer to the question. Which slows faster (falls more?) Hint: Consider a tractor trailer and a honda civic, both going 65mpf on a flat and straight interstate. We simultaneous slip both into neutral....which coasts farther?
  16. No - I have never seen that one before. It is not in final report format, but I have no reason not to believe it. That would be the first bit of data I have seen that suggests a majority of NY sportsmen would allow crossbows....that certainly tempers my message a bit. I remain convinced that crossbows do not belong...but will not force my views over the will of the NY sportsmen. We'll have to watch for a follow up report. They often break down the responses in more detail....for example they obviously asked these questions one at a time (because each one totals to 100%). If they ask it all at once, the answer may be different.
  17. The survey was sent out to ALL license holders, not just bowhunters. Pure fabrication. Pure lie. Ahhhh .... I see the problem. I should have said a SAMPLING of all deer hunters, not every single deer hunter. My bad. The point is, they sampled across all facets of deer hunters and not just bowhunters.
  18. Oh....so its method of propulsion and the fact that it is a single shot. But wait....we don't allow single shot centerfires in MZ, either. Got to be another reason that we exclude them. At the end of the day, we exclude centerfires from MZ because we recognize them as different. Anyone (who is being honest) will recognize that crossbows are different from bows. The only question is....are they different enough to warrant exclusion? Instead of discussing that question, all of you guys fill the air to create a smoke screen while you attack anyone who believes differently than you. What a great group of guys....no wonder I dislike crossbows and their advocates.
  19. I agree that your reasoning would support that separation. Of course, that has nothing to do with whether or not crossbows should be allowed in bow season. Try to stay on track.
  20. You are not getting it. The heavier bullet cannot be launched at the same MV from my .44...it will always start slower. But you can learn something from gun ballistics. Look at the rate with which the two weights are shedding velocity....which loses its velocity more quickly? That's right....the LIGHTER one. We are talking about the physical principle of inertia....bodies in motion tend to stay in motion, etc. That Newton was one smart dude.
  21. The survey was sent out to ALL license holders, not just bowhunters. Pure fabrication. Pure lie. Do some research.
  22. No - because guns use GUNPOWDER for power.. Bows use limbs and a string for power. Think someone claiming to be the savior of bowhunting would know that. ;D OH....so it is only method of propulsion that matters? It has nothing to do with range? How then would you explain a separate season for MZ and rifles? They both share gunpowder as the method for propulsion, yet we exclude rifles from MZ season.
  23. No. If the two different weight projectiles are launched at the same velocity the lighter one sheds its velocity more quickly. If we were to shoot a light arrow and a heavy arrow from the same bow, the light arrow would be launched at a higher velocity....but that is not what we are talking about here.
