  2. I used Beaman before but switched to Gold tip Pro hunters this last year. I shoot slick trick 100mags and no issues with this set up. Toughest arrow I have shot
  3. Vote for other people. Taxes go up every year but the same politicians get voted in time and time again.
  4. We love it. Keeps the bugs out. We have plenty of room for 4 chairs, Coleman road trip grill, 2 coolers and a weber Q under it and there is still room to move around. Set up real fast too.
  5. Screen room and my puppy claimed his bed, lol
  6. Weekend was awesome. No idea why we didn't buy a pop up sooner.

  10. post some pics of install, please
  11. Just got into the camping world. After year and years of my wife letting me support my fishing/hunting and toys habit she asked if we could get a pop up. I was trying for an ATV but figured since she usually lets me buy what ever I want I'd get her one. Since it was our first i didn't want to break the bank so I picked up a used 1999 Jayco 12UDK eagle. It has a all brand new tent / screen. Can't wait to get out and camp.
  12. Won't effect my hunting but this summer it might effect my fishing on my boat. I found a place to dock my boat for first 2 weeks off walleye so i won't have to trailer it every day to the lake.
  13. See you can explain something in detail. Most of what you said is the same point I was trying to make. My point is Food Plots help the herd and hunting plots are baiting with a twist. ;D and G-man I had no intentions to turn your thread into a name calling BS thread.
  14. Snobbery? Why b/c I disagree with you? Now this is funny. I am the furthest from being a snob. Just stating my opinions on a hunting website and as usual people can't take others opinions without name calling. Really come on now. All I stated is how much a deer eats in a year. Baiting a deer is illegal in NYS? Why is it illegal? Because you put food out to draw deer into an area to shoot them and the bait piles are not there year round . A 50 x 20 "STRETCH" Plot doesn't help the herd and will not be there all year around. Chances are the stretch plot will be gone right after hunting season ends. so how is it better or different then baiting? try to answer the question instead of wise guy remarks or childish name calling.
  15. Not all feeders are on timers, Just saying. I have seen a lot of them in the old Forge area that are like troughs .
  16. " Well it turns out deer need to eat on average about 1 1/2 tons of food a year. Thats about 3,000 lbs annually! To put that into context, humans eat on average only about 1,500 lbs a year" Now take that and multiply it by the amount of deer on a property. Do some food plots SUPPORT the deer or draw them in for hunting? Here's an interesting article that explains how much food deer eat. http://wiredtohunt.com/2010/05/18/how-much-food-does-a-deer-eat-a-year/
  17. Wow, what a load. So lets see, in your eyes my 3 less then 1/2 acre plots are baiting. And if it was up to you I wouldn't need to bust my @ss at all in the woods because I don't have groomed fields on my lease. Does your 1/2 acre plot support the wildlife in the area or just draw them in for hunting? Is that any different then having a corn feeder with corn in it? Does your 1/2 acre plots survive for the year or are they all eaten up during hunting season and then do nothing for the wildlife during the rest of the months? Garden sized food plots aren't supporting the area wildlife which is the reason and argument used by so many as to way they are better then baiting.
  18. This topic could get interesting. I personally feel large food plots or crops are good but cost a crap load of money. Now the throw and grow plots are in my eyes the same as baiting but is legal in NY vs a 600 lb corn feeder which is illegal. I personally think they should put a size limit on food plots for them to be legal.
  19. I'd guess late 40's early 50's for age. It just burns me real bad knowing thses guys are catching Walleye before the spawn. There are signs all up and down the creek saying it's closed until opening day of walleye. I'm guessing they are saying they are trout fishing but it's closed to all fishing right now.
  20. and we are bullhead fishing Oneida.
  21. Bullhead bite was slow. Got a call back from the DEC officer and he caught two guys fishing there today. Couldn't say if they had walleyes or not but they did get tickets. My uncle went down there just before dark and there were more guys fishing down there. This place used to be awesome opening weekend but now I know why it's been bad the last few years. Guys are catching them before they spawn. I told Officer Childs to expect more calls from us, lol
  22. My kid and I were coming back from the lake the other night from some bullhead fishing. I decided to drive by my walleye spot to check the water level under a bridge. I found two trucks with spot lights and a generators and them fishing. I called my uncle who lives near by. He called a Dec Officer he knows to let him know. I went back down there today and the DEC officer had two guys by his truck and was giving them tickets. This place is closed for walleye spawning. It just Ticks me off guys can't wait just over 2 weeks and have to ruin opening day for others.
  23. Both. I ice fish with a Showdown so really not to much of sitting in one spot for me. Run and gun on the ice. Soft water is mostly Salmon, lake trout on the big "O" and Walleye and Bass on little "O", lol ;D
