  1. good point. I'd be interested to find out how long. Another scare was chili at a local club was served with CWD meat from a deer brought in from out of state. I can't for the life of me remember where this happened but I know a few guys from canastota that ate there.
  2. i agree 100 %. The deer with CWD where found real close to a deer farm. I hunt in the So called cantamination zone. A lot of hunters in this area were scared to hunt b/c of CWD. 5 years later and no new cases of CWD have been found but the area is still listed as a contamination area.
  3. Since CWD testing began in 2002, a total of just over 32,000 deer have been sampled statewide, including 7,300 deer directly from the Oneida/Madison County containment area. Despite intensive testing of wild white-tailed deer, no additional cases have been detected in the New York since 2005.
  4. my 2 cents is it's all about the taxes. To do a food plot you need a good amount of land, Machinery, Seeds, Lime, gas etc. NYS gets taxes off all of that. If you stop by your local farmer and get some corn etc NYS gets no taxes from you. Either way you are bringing food to the area you hunt to bring deer in. Food plot/Bait pile the purpose is to hunt that area for the animal you want. Either way attracts them in.
  5. For my deer guns : Ithaca Model 37 deerslayer 12ga Ithaca Model 37 deerslayer 20ga Ithaca Storm 12ga I bow hunt with a browning Combustion
