  1. man that's gotta suck. Hopefully it's still kickin around and wasn't vital
  2. No need for the bow, just press a little harder on that right pedal
  3. It all depends on my mood and prerogative at that time. I've been passing up 6pts all season but now will shoot one if I see it. I just need to let the arrow fly already.
  4. like my ex girlfriend, I went camping with her... She didn't know how to turn a grill on, let alone how to cook a hot dog. I kid you not. This is coming from a girl who attends SU.
  5. I'd go and look again, ask the adjacent land owner if you can recover a deer on their property and look. Find thick areas where they would bed down after being shot. Look hard, you still might find him. Next time, pay attention to the deers reaction when they get hit, depending on the placement there will be tell tale signs on their reaction.
  6. These stories of theft are way too common. Just because it happens doesn't make it okay. Do I expect my jacket to be in the food court after leaving it there? No. I do hope that some person with moral integrity would see it and turn it in though. My point is simply, just because you might expect someone to steal something when it is left untended does NOT justify it's theft in the first place. If it's not yours don't touch it, self entitlement is rampant in this society. I think people need to watch more leave it to beaver and Andy Griffith.
  7. After watching a deer pet owner get mauled to death from a buck during its rut, I take deer more seriously not to take lightly.
  8. Mathews mission line is good, but if I remember correctly, they are around $500 bare bones.
  9. Looks like you got some help already, I haven't hunted that way before so I'm of no help.
  10. Completely agree with Danny. Look at the classifieds on archery talk. I will highly suggest you buy one with all the accessories you want. It will save you money in the long run and will already be assembled and tuned to the bow correctly, which takes lots of time in the off season to do correctly. It will change when you shoot it, but if your draw is the same, you should only have to adjust the sights. I personally bought a nice drop away and saved roughly 30% buying used from the archery talk classifieds. Also check craigslist, I see people all the time with complete archery sets including shooting gear and cases. With whatever route you go, make sure you buy the proper draw length because changing cams and the cables is expensive and cuts your savings of going used. On a side note, if you don't know your draw length get someone who knows how to measure correctly. And I would always advise to go shorter compared to longer because many people (me included) get too long of a draw length and end up down the road paying to shorten it an inch.
  11. I didn't know if OP was in the army, as he said he was hunting fort drum land. If he was he would understand the terminology. Blue falcons are buddy F&@$ers and there is always one somewhere being a Sh-- bag.
  12. we had our drill in boston canceled last month due to the whole government shut down... Made me mad, we are going to do weapons qual and play with the big boy toys
  13. hahaha you can't please everyone... Life wouldn't be any fun that way
  14. All that matters is you had a recovery and no lost deer. Congrats
  15. If it's a soldier too, that's a blue falcon that deserves to push and beat his face.
  16. Ouch, sorry to hear that. I hate all the scum that steal. I had a climber stolen this year and it just ticks me off.
  17. Because they can't post all the poaching pictures they have of untagged deer.
  18. oh the woman jokes will never get old. Reason 3173 why I'll be forever single.
  19. I have to be in Schenectady for drill that weekend. They couldn't have picked any other time...
  20. I just looked at my schedule for the army and noticed my November BA is the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of opening weekend. This sucks ????
  21. Politics in this county is just sickening... Seems like we need a clean slate.
  22. Then again, I've been hanging out with too many girls, their bi-polar mood and personality swings must be getting to me.
  23. haha... Well I guess I didn't realize I really don't even use the wheeler much locally when I hunt which is 80% of my hunting because all of my local spots are the usual 80 acre pieces of woods. But truxton is another story... That four wheeler saves my ass a lot of walking

    Finally

Awesome! This reminds me of a guy we hunted with a couple years back. He was well off financially and had a new Cadillac he bought. That day he ended up driving home with a bloody mess of a deer in the trunk. too funny
