1. I do think a bait pile has similar points as a food plot. The food plot has more support for permanence of support for the herd and quality of deer. I can see how someone could argue either way. Lets try to keep the debate not so hostile, then again I might as well grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.
2. I feel if its your land you should be able to hunt in a responsible fashion however you feel. So I'm all in for food plots.
3. Tell me about it... I was beyond confused choosing arrows as I am new to archery and had to read about spine, GPI, and other factors
4. I've decided spending the money on a good tent is invaluable as well as having a good pack to keep everything dry and comfortable to hike in. Thanks for the help, I'll have to save the next pay check and shell it out in gear
5. Compared to the $150/dz for say Easton FMJ or the GT maxima arrows these sure are cheaper. I wouldn't mind giving them a try if I didn't just buy a dozen beman ICS pro hunters
6. Yea, that's why I'm going to a 100 BH and if this set up doesn't work, going to a 450 spine arrow or even 500
7. This was my point, I wanted to get to areas most hunters aren't, I am willing to put in the work to see some buck bucks. I will give the canoe and I have a few locations in mind :evil grin:
8. This is a good point, I'm glad you brought it up and will look into it before deciding on a location
9. Sounds like a nice place to go for what I want. I'll make it a trip for the gun season instead of the archery. I appreciate the recommendation.
10. I might just try out a rage then after seeing all the hype. If not then ill use the standard slick tricks
11. I was using 125gr Bh's with the CX expidition hunter shaft. Shooting 28.5" draw 65lbs. Hoyt turbo hawk. Now I switched shafts to beman 400 hunter ICS camo pros. And will go with a 100gr BH I think.

Both shots were at 20-30 yards. I'll bring my bow to the shop (legends of the fall, Tully NY) and get it checked out. I want to upgrade to a drop rest anyway.
12. My first season for archery was last year. I used the spitfire maxx expandables and hated them because the doe and buck I shot had pitiful penetration because they stopped as soon as they hit a rib or edge of shoulder. So... Anyone have experience with slick tricks or muzzy's?
13. I just don't want to go up north there because I've heard the hunting isn't great, the deer are far more scarce than they are in the west or south west. That may be my ignorance due to the tales and stories I hear from the old timers that I'm around.
14. Awkward moment when I look at page one to see his post is over 2 years old
15. Huntography, nice to see you in here as I stumbled across your blog recently because I too have a canon 7d from when I took photography in school and dabbled with weddings. I am inspired to to and film some hunts this year with it or my hand held cam. Just need to make a tree cam mount as I don't have the $150 for a lone wolf mount
16. So sorry to hear the news, thankfully he is still alive and that's a testament to his tenacity. I wish for a speedy recovery!
17. Anyone have recommendations for a public area good for a three day hunt? I heard of a place in Geneseo Called letchworth state park, but fear it is too small to make a trip out of due to the fact they only allow you small sections to hunt from. yet it seems attracting due to the limit on hunting pressure.
18. I vouch for my mp6 is awesome! Great battery life and picture results. I prefer buying two lower end cams like the moutlrie d-333 then buying a more expensive one for say $150. Covert makes great cams and I like my moutlrie's stay away from primos and stealth cams.
19. Can't wait to try it out in the late season. I like the idea of going to find tracks on the banks
20. I have all the patience in the world but I would just like to know who won, I'd like to see who ever wins that cam to post the pictures they get from it. I wouldn't mind the bottle opener
21. Anyone know of a large public land area that I can take a 3 days to hike far in and camp in the woods with a chance of landing a big ol buck? I don't know of any places that are large enough to do a long hike and camp kinda hunt
22. I like the simplistic way here, I might just plan a early season like November camping trip to try out a long hike to Unchartered territory. Any suggestions of large parks that would be great to go for a long hunt for whitetail here in NY?
23. I'm in the army reserves and have a nice army issued three piece sleeping bag that I'm happy to use I will be tenting in the winter so I definitely need a 4 season tent or canvas teepee with fire stove to stay warm. A hammock would be nice if I was in Florida.
