Nice we have some good bucks here in NH just wish my area had more of them we are very Doe rich & buck poor Congrats
-
Pee away never had an issue with it like many what did the hunters do long before plastic bags you see tons of pictures with 8 or more deer hanging on a pole with 2 or 3 guys in the early 1900's I don't think they used ziplocks although they probably didn't use scent kiler either but I do know they used Rage broadheads way before then just watch the commercials

all characteristics that you can make out point to a bobcat: Lack of tail, ears, Face Bobcat's height is 20-24 in & Bobcat's length is 25-42 in Mountain lions Height: 27 to 31 inches at the shoulder & Mountain lions Average Length: 60 to 95 inches probably easier to measure the length of the logs & try to compare but I am pretty sure you will find that it is a bobcat

What camera do you have My moultrie D55IR takes awesome pics -
fast eddie I agree never crono'd mine either I shoot a Hoyt rampage XT now & it is fast enough a deer will not be able to tell you whether the arrow is going 280 or 320 fps if it is dead most all modern bows with a 50# draw weight is going to be fast enough my last deer I took out in Naples last year was 53 yards complete pass through & only went about 50 yards Accuracy is more important then getting a couple FPS

I shoot rage 2 blades & Love them I was using nap 3 blades (don't remeber which model) rubber band fold backs lost 2 deer with them. have killed 4 deer now with the rage & have not had 1 go over 70 yards I am only shooting about 55#'s last one was a 53 yard shot. I know there have been a lot of complaints on the 3 blades but have not had an issue with the 2 blades. Just make sure you keep the O-ring lubed as the blades won't stay locked in if they are dry & the Rage do fly the same as my field points

Shotgun Rifled Barrel or not?
gfdeputy2 replied to Rev Ev's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I never used a rifled barrel my smoothbore is acurate out to 100 yards + the cost of buying the new barrel & the cost of sbots to me is not worth the cash -

I purchased a cheap video camera this year & made my own mount that attaches to the stabilizer mount & just used some 3M foam padding to dampen the vibration would say I should have bought a better video camera quality is NOT good when zooming in but wanted to try it before spending athe big dollar will try it out this year & if it works will buy a better camera will try & post a pic if you would like I am thinking I should make a bunch of mounts & start selling them after seeing what they go for & are cheap to make

New Hampshire started an apprentice hunting license this year The Apprentice License holder is allowed to hunt only when accompanied by a properly licensed person who is 18 years of age or older. "Accompanied" means maintaining actual physical direction and control -- keeping the apprentice within sight and hearing at all times (without use of electronic devices). gives a person a chance to see if they like hunting before having to go take a hunter safety class first they can only buy this once & all rules apply it is like taking a youth with you Here in NH we have the opposite I know bowhunter#'s are increasing every year not so much firearms only good thing here in NH is if the land is not posted you can legally hunt it unless you are told by the owner NO

Mechanical or fixed broadheads?
gfdeputy2 replied to Forest Hunter's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I shoot the Rage 2 blades & haven't had a problem with them I have a very short draw (25.5") & shooting a little over the 50# mark have taken two deer with these broadheads & neither went over 50 yards but I will say if your broadheads are working stick with them don't get caught up in the hype of the biggest baddest blah blah blah garbage & I agree with everyone else there are so may things that can go wrong bowhunting & most of the time it is a shooters mistake not equipment -
Anyone ever try to test one of your cams?
gfdeputy2 replied to crs740's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
wow I have had great luck with my Moultrie D55IR there was a recall on some models reguarding the LCD screens & if you have an older D55 there is a free download upgrade for the trigger speed setting of 15 seconds from 30 I do know Primos is having a lot of problems I think due to heat. summertime temps bother them I will never buy a wildgame innovations product ever again -
well I am getting antsy just can't wait to get out of here for a week & head to some real deer country I am acually out in the country just no deer here LOL I think 8n kills more deer then we have in the entire state of NH
-
any rubs, scrapes anything? have not seen anything in NH yet which is odd usually scapes & rubs by now has been warm just hoping they will be active in 8N when we get there in a week
-
Buckrub91 I apologize I did think you did not want outer staters hunting & just to stay out of your state I do agree with you that is why we moved to NH years ago "live free or Die" we have none of the following here Assault weapon ban Pistol restrictions (concealed carry permit is very easy to get) "High capacity" magazine ban small amount ofUnemployment
-
Congrats on a nice doe
-
also try wunder map @ weather underground
-
I too am an outer stater & also from NH (raised on Long Island that may be worse LOL) & have been hunting 8N for 5 -6 years now & have always felt welcome by the locals don't want to start anything but remember Buckrub91 how much money comes into your state though visitors my group of 4 drops over $5000 in the local economy for just a weeks stay not including what the state makes for our non resident licenses\ for the rest of you Thanks for making a fellow New Hampshirite feel welcome
-
brought my first one to a butcher & was not happy we do our own now cheaper & I enjoy it I think it is all part of the hunt & for some reason it makes the Veni taste much better when you feel you have done everything from scouting to eating it
-
been coming here for 5 years or so great place during bow season not so much rifle used to go the second week of rifle but when you spend the week worried about getting shot at & I had a close call we decided to bow hunt it instead it is rough country well the definition of tor is 1. a prominent rock or pile of rocks on a hill 2. a high rocky hill that is an understatement for some of this area
-
no by the time we got out they were gone we didn't get plate #s I was just too busy trying not to get shot just will not go back for rifle season I personally would rather bow hunt anyway I got back into it 2 years ago & I am hooked now that the bows have improved since I last used them over 15 years ago
-
Nope just hunting Public land a very large crew came through doing a drive right past everyone the drivers were yelling & just shooting their rifles off trying to push deer NOT FUNNY I had a bullet hit the tree behind me a few feet above me "Me thinks you be a might PARANOID" I would rather be PARANOID & Alive then then rifle hunt there & be Dead so call it what you want
