  1. Here is an email I got from my dad. Worlds Toughest Deer? You be the judge. Here is the text included in the email: "This deer had some very uncomfortable days until he was harvested by this hunter. It is obvious that there was a fight during the rut and this deer ended up with an extra antler (embedded below the eye). You can see that the antler from the attacking deer was broke off below the base of the antler as there is still blood on the pedicel. That takes a tremendous amount of pressure. Pretty amazing"
  2. We have a ton of pics of him. Here are some more. Here is a link to all the deer we caught earlier in the year. I havent updated them recently...too busy hunting! http://picasaweb.google.com/106716719241878203357/TrailCams?feat=directlink
  3. Im think hes gonna get bigger...much bigger. This year is the first time we have seen him, so I dont think hes an old deer. Plus his physical features make me think hes younger. I have never seen such a large 4 point!
  4. New camera location = a lot of activity.
  5. Ive seen a handful of does in the past couple of days, all but one were alone...no bucks. However, last night at 6:30 pm just as I was about to climb down out of my stand I heard some leaves crunching. Sat for a while and heard a buck grunting like mad, chasing a doe. I had to eventually give up and the buck spooked as soon as I started getting down. The doe stayed in the edge of the field I was hunting until I got about 15 yards away. I couldnt see how large the buck was, which would have helped because the younger bucks tend to rut earliest. Just FYI.
  6. Here is a video of two smaller bucks sparring/fighting.
  7. Hey all, We finally got another pic of the bobcat. Also got a video this time. Got some decent bucks, but I forgot those pics on my dads laptop. Here they are.
  8. I would guess the first buck to be a mature 4 1/2 year old buck. It has a little pouch on the brisket and a slope to the belly. Also has some tarsal staining to indicate a slightly older buck. The second one is a little harder to tell with the angle. I would venture a GUESS at 3 1/2 years on him.
  9. Hopefully I can spare him that trouble...
  10. I talked to a biologist for NYS DEC and he said the same thing...looks like a nice, healthy adult cat around 30-35 lbs. A couple people have spotted it nearby in the past couple weeks. I think I will be a little more cautious going in and out of my stand while its dark. lol.
  11. I have a pretty good idea where they have moved to. Ive tried to keep my cams on the outer edge of where I think they are bedding. I dont want to go right into the middle. I have three stands on known routes in and out of the suspected bedding area, and one closer to the center. Ive also got a stand up where I caught "Two Foot" (another post). We have been catching some smaller bucks and does on the cams lately. They really started to change their patterns when the nearby corn was cut and they rubbed off the velvet. I think i'm pretty well set up and have stands where they need to be. I cant wait for the morning...
  12. The one and only pic we got of a bobcat.
  13. These are some that we havent been able to catch on cam in a little bit. If you want to see all the pics, go to my gmail pics at: http://picasaweb.google.com/106716719241878203357/TrailCams?feat=directlink
  14. I call him Two Foot, because thats about how wide he is. We caught 33 different bucks on our cams during August and September. At leats 10 QUALITY bucks, but most have them have disappeared now. Here are some pics of him. Will post some of the others in another post
