Got my biggest bow buck this morning! He was chasing a hot doe with a five, a smaller 7 and a spike. chip shot 5 yards. Came in to the primos can.

Got one this morning! Broken up 7 point. There were 3 other bucks chasing one hot doe on private land in suffolk. Great Morning & my biggest buck with the bow!.

fellow islander from patchogue. I hunt mainly private and county land in suffolk. I own a 110 acre farm in Schoharie county (4G) so i do a lot of bowhunting up there too.

i think i'd let the 5 walk and shoot the 8, even though the 5 looks like an older deer.

yea it gives me a reason to be in the woods after deer season!

Saturday was one of those days in the woods you dream about all year long. Just after a front, no wind, first week in November and a dip in the temps made for excellent deer movement at my place. I had a 6 or 8 come in right before daylight (too dark to see clearly) and for the first time ever i watched a doe squat and rub urinate right in a scrape. My father also saw a glimpse of a good buck chasing a doe in a pine thicket. Anybody else sit on saturday?

haha i can assure you i didnt steal your card but he is a unique looking deer. Rack seems to go up instead of out.

These two just showed up on my farm

i am seeing the same problem on my land. Last year I got serious and learned to call at night with the lights and have had limited success. Ive called them in and they've been howling all around me at times but they've never committed, even with a decoy out. Now, granted i may have been doing something wrong but towards the end of the season, i set a bait pile. I was never able to hunt it but i had a cam on it & had them visiting all hours of the night & day. The bait consisted of dog food, eggs, chicken necks & backs, and sausage. Irresistable! I will be doing this again after the deer season.

HUNTED 4G THE PAST TWO WEEKENDS. A FEW SCRAPES POPPED UP LAST WEEKEND. I HAD 2 DOES COME IN AT FIRST LIGHT 10/30 WITH A BUTTON BUCK GRUNTING AND CHASING THEM AROUND. THATS ABOUT IT

I CANT STAND HUNTING IN THE WIND. I DID SEE A FEW DEER EARLY IN THE MORNING ON HALLOWEEN BUT I CANT STAND NOT BEING ABLE TO HEAR THEM BEFORE I CAN SEE THEM. THEY JUST SNEAK RIGHT UP ON YA!

i've canned in a few bucks that were out of range. I find the sound is better if you blow into the bottom hole (the one you cover with your thumb) Its a different & louder sound. try it.

i'd say with the dip in the temps on friday we should see some decent movement during the day. Not to mention its halloween weekend, one of the best times to be in the woods!
