  1. Gotcha, yeah looks like there was no penetration in the weld. Not saying that still wouldn't have broke but it probably would have held up a little longer. Like mentioned before I think a few gussets would have made a world of difference.
  2. The BC for the .30cal is slightly better depending on the bullet and you can go down to weights used in the .277cal bullets. If you went with the 300 blackout round you would get a much larger bullet variety than the 6.8/.277 bullet selection if you wanted to reload. The over the shelf rounds have some variety but mostly on the heavier end. I saw some people loaded the 300 blackout with 220 grain bullets. That would be an awful heavy bullet but for coyotes but would do a licking on deer out to 100 yards.
  3. Be careful posting such a sweet looking gun, I bet @Biz-R-OWorld called dibs on it already. You know how those city guys like their bling.
  4. I do get you can sell me any gun in your arsenal without an issue. The issue then becomes your word against the DA's or your word against the perpetrator. Then they just have to bring up past sales and twist it so any judge or jury will see their angle and pull on the heart strings a little and you're in jail. So in other words "playing stupid" isn't going to keep you out of jail. What part of this aren't you getting? Knowing or not you will get your ass in the binde.
  5. I saw the issue the first time, I'm saying that playing stupid knowing or not the person is underage, or felon is not a good defense and will still likely face charges. Last I knew there weren't any laws that protect people that sell a gun to felon or underage person.
  6. I'm saying if I was to sell a gun I wouldn't be taking the chance on going to jail over $20. In other states if you sell or give a gun to a felon you will be going to jail with huge fines, god forbid that gun is used to kill someone then you can be charged as an accomplice. No way in hell NY or other state would I as a private seller take the risk. If someone is willing to take that risk in a state that doesn't mandate NICS on long gun purchases that is their choice.
  7. Yes but many states require a concealed carry permit while you don't need one to own the gun. For example Florida, you can't carry your gun on person unless you have a Florida permit.
  8. I thought we were talking NY, not sure why someone would take that chance. Criminals will get guns no matter what laws are on the books, NICS checks don't stop them. I would like to know the number of NICS checks that have prevented criminals (felons) from purchasing and possessing a gun. I'm betting it is a very small percentage.
  9. Depends on your interests, the Harrisburg show has a lot of different stuff. The gun building is my favorite, with all the big name manufacturers there you can handle all sorts of handguns and rifles. If you're in the market for a handgun or 2 you can literally rack and/or dry fire 100 different guns all depends on your fancy. The outfitter building is neat to see all the different animals, archery building is nice usually there is a couple crossbow man. there and can shoot the latest and greatest. Tons of archery gear and gadgets. A bunch of fishing vendors and charters from Lake Ontario if you are looking for some summertime fun. Expos and seminars daily. It's the biggest show in the NE and lots to do and see. Some good deals some not, some pretty nice scopes for good deals last time I went.
  10. Huh? How can I sell any firearm to a convicted felon? If they are a convicted felon they can't pass a NICS check. If you give or sell a firearm to a convicted felon you will be on the hook and spending some time in jail and also become a felon.
  11. The socialist left can't get that through their thick heads, they just want to see everyone unarmed so they can do what they wish.
  12. I was thinking the same thing, The welds don't even look like they penetrated the metal. That welding looks horrible, was it the frame that went into the receiver only? I saw some that the hitch frame actually bolts to the UTV frame. I was thinking I would rather go that route being more points of contact and less stress on the hitch.
  13. I agree, let's just say I'm looking into a few things to see if I can tweak a gun to make it without a doubt legal but not with a mag that is fixed with a rivet, screw, bolt, ect. Should be interesting.
  14. Get a hi-point in .45! Just kidding, but I have never been a Ruger fan as they are difficult to take down without special tools. Granted you're looking at a revolver but still not my first choice. The bodyguard .38 revolver is probably one of the smallest framed revolvers I have shot it is able to shoot +P ammo but holy does it put a whooping on your hand. I also shot the airweight 642 also a nice gun and available in .357 which would be just painful to shoot. That would be one of those one and done kind of things. I have shot the non air weight version in .357 and wow was it uncomfortable.
  15. Might be able to make a trip down this year. Last year my wife was due on the 12th so I wasn't able to make it down.
  16. I don't know if I would be hooking something like that to the hitch. I have seen what that ground hog can do to an atv it isn't pretty. I would look into the UTV hitchworks 3 point setup before one of these. http://utvhitchworks.com/
  17. If you have to travel to and from the range I would go through the extent of pulling it apart into 2 pieces and I wouldn't have it in plain sight. No need to give them a reason.
  18. But according to the laws already in place before the safe act by the federal government and enforced on the state level and also no mention of gun parts in the safe act, Once the gun is inoperable meaning unable to fire it is no longer considered a firearm but parts. So once the gun is split and unable to fire it is no longer a firearm let alone an assault rifle making the detachable magazine part of the safe act null in void.
  19. I was thinking the same thing, someone assassinated him and they found him with the gun on the ground and a bullet hole in the face. These people aren't complete idiots and know what they are doing. Much smarter than people give them credit. They outsmart the US government where there are 100's people that are trained to find terrorists and predict/intercept their actions.
  20. Because some can't physically use a bow anymore and switched to the crossbow.
  21. Have you seen the "Patriot pin"? Makes it real easy to operate.
  22. Wow good to know, I was looking into other companies all USA made but would love to buy local.
  23. Out of all the Alaskan/outdoor shows I like Mountian Men the most on the History channel. Alaska the last frontier is okay but a bit hokey, the Last Alaskans is okay but a lot like Alaska the Last frontier. Homestead rescue is neat and actually more informative than the others I listed. Alaskan Bush people is a complete joke and the lack of education really shows, Aunt-Ma and Uncle-Pa kind of family. I'm betting they all pork their sisters when the cameras aren't around except that one probably likes his brothers. I'm guessing the Kilchers made their money off oil or some sort of mineral. Who knows they could have a gold mine they never show on TV. I mean there is a lot about these people we don't know. I think Mountian Men is the only show that there isn't as much smoke and mirror stuff. I mean look at Eustace and basically no equipment and his out buildings that have the hand cut wood shake shingles. No one would do that unless they truly didn't have any money. He said in the past he uses the money from the show to pay his taxes and that was it.
