    I'm really struggling with myself over shooting a doe. They taste good and I nothing will go to waste in my house! But I started thinking that could be 3 deer dead in one shot! Idk what do u guys think? Oh and I use to shoot them all the time. Now I'm just not sure. Helping or hurting???

    We did measure him 2 times. Well to do my friends did. 1 has 137 and the other 143. I'm going to take him to the guy who scores for this area for the books next wk for a green score just to see if he thinks he will make the books

    All quiet here in 9A. Haven't seen a deer since opening day. And haven't heard much shooting since then either. Come to think of it I didn't hear much shooting then either. What's the deal? No hunters or no deer?

    I agree. I have a problem sitting all day too when I'm not seeing deer. The only reason I do is because I only get a few months to hunt whitetail deer. And I love to be in the woods!! Well at least until it gets super cold

    The deer are hiding. Very well. Only way to see them now is either go for a walk or hope someone pushes them to u. Me I like to sit in the stand. Let the other people walk. I don't like shooting at deer when they are doing 90mph

    Grampy i myself have prob only taken 3 over 200 lbs. but between my friends and I we get at least one or more a yr. we are up on Lake Ontario border. Flat and lots of corn. But the corn is great and not so great at the same time. Once they know they are being hunted u don't see them again. They live in the corn.

    Yes 225 dressed. I've seen them as big as 242 here. The deer have all the food they need here. U don't see as many deer as u do in southern tier but the ones u do see are worth it most of the time!

    I think the deer know they are being pressured. Plus the acorns were dropping in late sept thru October. They might have eaten most of them. They have in my area. The deer are mostly nocturnal now. Eating at night. Gun season shuts down movement.

    This is sad. I can tell u enough how much I drill into my sons heads "make sure it is a deer" or do not shoot!! To many people shot!!

    I personally let lots of bucks pass anymore during bow. And I agree to let hunter up to age of 21 shoot what ever. But I sure do hate when I let these bucks walk and they get whacked anyhow during gun. I guess that's kinda why I'm for AR. But I still think maybe a 1 buck season is better. U would have to be more selective! U would let the 1.5/2.5 bucks walk. Well unless u were a true meat hunter or the guy who hunts once or twice a year.

    I didn't see many rubs at the beginning of the season. Seeing a ton now. I don't get it. I think I have this animal figured out and then another yr comes and I'm not sure I know as much as I think

    Can't kill a deer if u aren't in the woods!!! Spend as much time as u can. Public land is hard to hunt but the pressure has dropped a lot after opening wk. all I can say is wear orange and be in the woods! And if u really want to hunt and see deer and want to truly love the sport!!! Take up archery!!! So much nicer. Deer are doing what they do. Not running scared because there's 20 orange guys pushing them and unloading on them. Just my .02! Good luck out there be safe!!

    I agree with grizz. If I had that much land and had the ability to grow 100 acre food plots then yes I sure would let a 3.5 yr old walk if I knew he would just get bigger. Problem is most of the property's I own or have permission to hunt are less the 50 acres. And I do the best I can at passing the little guys. But they just get shot on the next property anyhow. I let many small 1.5-2.5 yr olds walk this yr. hopefully one or two will make it till next year. Good vid tho. Thanks for sharing.

    I have been seeing and hearing a lot of people talking about fresh rubs. Why so late? I thought they only did this before the rut stage. I'm pretty sure the rut is on its way out in my neck of the woods. Any thoughts on this?

    Or how bout the land owner should have said sure u can lease the land. But there is a guy who hunts it already and he's a family friend and he still is going to have the right to hunt it. And instead of taking 1800 they should have taken 1200. And considered the work the guy does payment for the other 600 and it's a 3 guy lease. 3 people can hunt 125 acres just fine

    Well I feel this is part of the reason the hunting population is down! It's to hard and aggravating to get private land. Costs to much too!
