    Took me a little longer to get in the stand because a big ole doe with a faun were under the stand. Later tonight I'll probly say I should have taken that doe. Oh well we'll see.

    I'm going to set up where this guy was last night in about 10 minutes. I think he's the one that snort wheezed me the other day.

    Rained here a little bit and not cold out so I should be able to sneak into stand in stealth mode. no crunchiness

    That's cool. I have a similar deal with video and audio of my buck last year. I forgot it was there. I saw me drag the buck to the clearing, friend of mine show up, my son checking it out, gutting etc. It's really neat to help remember the story.

    Usually before this time of year I want to get away from work, cars, traffic, wegmans and just people in general. Kind of a problem I have. I used to park my truck at a trail head and back pack trails around this time of year until I started hunting. I have made so many stories (mainly to tell my kids) this year hunting. I've also been able to spend more time with my family even though I hunt every single chance I get. I love it and haven't put any meat in the freezer yet this year. It's about the experience even though I myself rationalize it by saying I hunt for the meat or the quality of the meat over store bought. Disconnect and surprise yourself. Hunt the way you can and don't regret it. Glad that we can replace knees these days. Hope your better soon. Get back out there

    Wrapped up work early to go to teachers conference however I had a little time to kill. (that would be a pun I think if I got something but I didn't) anyways I went for a walk in some woods in 8n to see where deer go when they are "nocturnal" I normally kick up a few tails here and there on a walk like this but none until at the almost end of the walk I kicked up a HERD of deer. They went every direction. Most times I see a lot of deer I say a dozen and thats close one way or the other. I'm gonna say 20 because usually I can count to 12 pretty quick and there were more than that. I had a shot but it would have had a housing development behind it and I'm not going there. No bucks tho. Lots of fresh buck sign all over. I took pics but don't have time to upload them now. Turkey feathers saw the pics so he can vouch for me. The deer are there you just have to look a little harder I guess is what I'm saying.

    Very windy but in the best direction for me. I figure the deer may hide out in the wind but I have to give it a try before going to work. Trail cam showed I missed a 7 pt by about 5 min yesterday but it would have been before legal light. Today was by far my most stealthy entrance to the woods and stand. I bet I'm surrounded by deer. Well I hope so at least.

    That was a good video. I watched something similar in hunter ed last year that showed contrast of effectiveness and how animals mostly can't see you.

    So I saw no deer but heard my first ever snort wheeze in real life. He was there...just wouldn't come out of the bushes. I was so pumped. Had a great evening 45 minute sit.

    In a brand new spot for a short sit. This is one of those properties the deer can pretty much surprise you from any direction. This guy was here this am

    Just for you...I've got a doe in the brush in front of me browsing for like 2 hours. Less than 50 yards. When will she come out?

    Foggy getting in this morning. Seems to be lifting. Walked over fresh tracks from overnight. Crunchy walk in and my feet froze to each step on the way up. Butt stuck to seat for a second. Very short sit for me this am. Gotta go to work in a bit. Be as safe as you can be out there and enjoy it.

    I've been hunting with an orange hat, orange vest that doesn't fully cover like a vest should and and orange backtag holder. I'm going to get and orange jacket and pants if I can afford them today. I started thinking about it yesterday as I was sitting in a chair with my hood up. From behind who could even see me. I know accidents still happen but it can't hurt being very visible. I hunt where I would think no one else was on private property. Yesterday I got cold so I got up and walked a little near a bedding area on the property kinda close to where I was sitting. Don't I see fairly fresh tracks that aren't mine. On one property I hunt I know the neighbor that hunts behind me and we communicate when either of us are out. I'm going to make a good effort to get to know the neighbors at the other property who tend to set their stands 50' off the property line facing me. Bullets sometimes travel farther than anticipated.

    Have a doe browsing in brush for about an hour now. Flick of turkeys just walked by and I've never seen any turkeys here or had trail cam pics. Now I have a raccoon hanging out of a tree in front of me I think eating wild grapes. Good to see some activity.

    One shot heard this am then 9 consecutive shots. Every othe morning this week there's been plenty of shots all around.
