  1. Made it out a little late this am due to a warm fire and family sitting around it. I'll be late because of that anyday. I bumped something getting into the woods but only heard it run off. Very crisp and breezy here. I'm sitting in a spot I've never sat before. As it gets light I realized I set my chair almost on top of a new fresh scrape. Oops.
  2. They'll learn how much it costs when your not there
  3. Sitting in a huge pine tree kinda protected from the ice and rain that's starting to fall. Getting dark and very foggy. Seems like lights out here soon but I have another hour I think. All the snow melt today makes the creek nearby pretty loud. Hoping a deer sneaks right up on me.
  4. The wind has no real direction here right now. One minute one way next minute the other way. I guess nothing I can really do about it now.
  5. I'll be back in my elevated porch blind for the morning. Saw two doe from it Thursday am. I now have a doe tag thanks to Cleverscreenname who was willing to give me this tag even tho these tags were low/none. Very grateful to him. Last year was my first year hunting and it seemed so easy. This year not so much. Need all the help I can get. Afternoon I will be out on the edge of a pine grove no matter what the weather does.
  6. I did not but I had one from last year. Pretty tasty. I've been collecting them for a few years. Lost interest when they sold out tho.
  7. Sitting in my elevated blind in 8p. Aka the front porch behind some stacked wood in a nice cushy swivel chair. Good spot too since we got drizzly ice coming down. The top of the snow is crunchy and everything is slippery. Plenty of shots around the property. Just had two big doe run by after a series of shots from another property.
  8. Not sure if your near the same spot as last night but I forgot to tell you I heard turkeys.
  9. On my way to the stand I had to bump two doe. There was no way around it. They were in my backyard. I got set and in my stand and saw them again about 200 yards out. So now fresh doe scent is all around me.
  10. I'll be sitting from 730-9 I'll let you know what you miss
  11. I liked that. I'm headed to the woods for a few days and that sort of set the tone. Thanks!
  12. I have an opportunity to hunt 8p for the next week. I tried for an 8p tag but did not receive one. If anyone would be willing to give one up or let me use it for the week that would be nice. If I don't fill the tag I could give it back. All I have to trade would be 8n 8h and I know those are easy ones
  13. I'll request to be invited again the day after Moog. He can break the trail in and I won't be walking through thigh high snow. As far as deer moving, I saw a few and that is always cool for me no matter what they are and if a shot is presented. Thanks again!
  14. Don't forget, Low and Slow and it should ooze too much
  15. Lol. I heard about that. I'm sitting tight. Saw four deer already or maybe two deer twice. I better take Larry's advice and put my phone away.
  16. I have an excellent change in scenery thanks to Larry302. However... I seemed to have misplaced my atomic fireball. Hope a jawbreaker will do the trick. Tonight is going to be awesome.
  17. I made it to my stand late this afternoon. Waded through snow that went from 3" to up to my hips. That explains the scenario here...Windy. I didn't see any deer but heard geese and saw a few other birds.
  18. That sounds like a plan. I just gotta put a few ducks in a row first and I'll text you
  19. That happened to me yesterday morning. After that I got down. I had to readjust everything on the stand to make it safe again. Check your straps. My adjustable stabilizer pole that goes between tree and ladder actually got pushed in so it was shorter.
  20. I know there's no specific answer here but I've had bear on the trail cam on and off since spring. At what point will the bear hunker down? It's cold windy and snowing but can't the bear handle a little of this weather? Plus it went from 70 to what we have now in a matter of hours. I would imagine it would take a little time to start the hibernating process.
  21. Here you go Larry. It's from 2014 and its yours. I'll put it in my truck so just text me when you're out this way and I'll drop it to you.
  22. Looks like I'll be live from my snowblower at least for a little bit. Canandaigua school is cancelled so kids stay home. Hope to make it out to my tree stand in the snow at some point today. I've never hunted in the snow like this
  23. I again started wondering what I would do if the tree my stand is in came down with me in it. So I got out of there. May try to come up with a plan b for this afternoon. I was on the deer too.
  24. Deer are moving here in 8n. So far 4 doe sprinting early , then 6 doe just out of range, a grunting buck I couldn't see due to blizzard and one neighbor walking dog.
