  1. This hunt started with March/April scouting. Moved my stand from scrape line to a location 50 yds to the thicker pinch point. Majority of scraping activity occurring at night so I opted for the preferred travel route.

11/9 @ 3:30 he read the script and walked the trail I predicted in April would be the travel route. He stopped broad side at 32 yds and I made terrible shot. Practice at this distance routinely but I must have squeezed the grip, lefty, and torqued it forward. The G5 montec took out shoulder and severed spine. Sometimes luck helps but anyway here's my 7pt. 2. I call blind frequently and have been successful. I use True Talker grunt tube and Primos Bleat Can. I like to do series of calls every 30-45 when breeding cyle is consistent with tending grunts and doe bleats.

  3. I think PA has created an environment for nice bucks. Archery season similar to NY but 1 wk shorter and then a 2 wk break before gun season starts. BUT antler restrictions and one buck only. It works...

  4. Been hunting long time and have heard lots of bucks grunt but never heard one like today. While in East Otto today, heard the loudest most gutteral grunts ever. Definitely tending a doe and I feel sorry for her. Archery is the best.

  5. 2005 in PA the last 3 days of archery: Day 1 as I'm driving to my spot I see a giant buck cross in front of me chasing a doe. It runs into an area that I won't be hunting. Day 2 I see the big fella now in my area hounding a doe. He stops for calling but won't leave doe. This is an evening hunt so I stay in the woods late so I can leave under cover of darkness.

Day 3 last day of PA archery. My plan is to hunt from climber last place I saw him until 8:30 and if no sightings move climber 100 yds to the trail where I saw him the previous night. 8:30 am break down stand as quietly as possible and move 100 yds. Find tree, climb, trim a limb, and start grunting. 9:00 am 136" 10 pt dead. A hunt I will never forget

  7. I hunt both archery and pheasant with my GSP. If you want to archery hunt where pheasants have been released. ...well that's not the best approach. There's a lot of State land that doesn't have pheasant release areas.

  8. Watched 10-15 does feeding yesterday from 6-6:30 and no bucks came out scattering them. They better enjoy it while they can because in another week: GAME ON

  9. I've had a summit holder for 10 yrs. Can pack stand with it attached. DON'T recommend climbing with bow in holder. I've made minor adjustments to stand with bow in holder and there's a lot of movement. Pull bow up
