  1. I'd pass on them as I don't have and extra cash to build an addition to my game room and heighten the ceiling. Very very nice.
  2. sorry I wasn't sitting in my ladder on 10/10.
  3. Hey all. Just pulled some photos from one of my cameras and curious if this is the same buck? I think it is as I see a little drop on his left main beam. Time stamp is 18 seconds apart Thoughts and thanks. Steve
  4. Heading out in an hour. Crappy weather coming the next 2 days and the baro is dropping. They'll be feeding earlier.
  5. IT guy also here and recently out of work. I actually set up a live cam on the wood line 250 feet from my home and did a quick and dirty webpage that broadacasts it. Used a WIFI repeater below by deck which connects to the in house router. Working good so far. If you're interested in the address PM me.
  6. SD.. I totally agree with your point for sure. It doesn't impact the population regardless of who shot it. It's always a great day to be afield regardless of success.
  7. Bubba is right and it has nothing to do with the shot. It's the muscle relaxation after it expires.
  8. I hate it too. Drives me crazy when I hear other tagging out then using someone elses tag later in the season. I was fortunate this year to take an 8 point with the bow and a 10 with the gun. I posted the property heavy this year but that doens't seem to matter either with trespassers. I hear shots at night all the time and it's just disgusting. All I can say is if you do it right be proud that you don't cheat like others do. I can honestly say they I uphold the game laws and proud that I do it right. I straight out tell those that do it that they'll never hunt with me and any deer they take, buck or doe, is nothing to be proud of.
  9. WNY... me also. I have a Mossberg 500 New Haven model. Had it 25 years and, although a smooth bore, has NEVER failed me. Killed a lot of deer with that gun and everytime I get to use it it makes me smile. Mostly rifle now but it holds a special place in my heart for sure. First gun too.
  10. FatArrow. I love my Gerber set. Has a gut hook and saw as well as the standard 4 inch. Did 7 with it since I bought it and can bring the edge back real easy. Love the Gerber steel.
  11. Savage 110 30.06 - Nikon 3 X9 40mm. Remington Accutips 165gr
  12. Took a photo of this button buck with my cell phone under my stand this afternoon. He walked around and is now bedded down 20 yards from me.
  13. Took this 8 pointer as he was hot on a doe Saturday 11/3. The bucks are really blowing up now and pushing the baldies good. He dressed 127. First venny in freezer this year. I shot at this deer earlier in the season and missed but was lucky enough to get another shot. Good luck all this year.
  14. Poor judgement. Let him walk a little futher and take an ethical shot.
  15. My two cents. Last year on my property I had a wide 8 pointer bedded in the field during the gun that I decided to pass on the Sunday after opening day. At about 3:30 a "road hunter" saw the deer and parked in a adajcent house that was for sale and snuck into the property from the other side (no orange of course in blue jeans). The deer jumped up and ran in my direction and the idiot sends a shot in my direction and almost shoots me. The bullet hit a railroad bed abot 40 yards to the right of me. He gut shot the deer. The deer layed down abot 50 yards from my stand and I walked up to it and dispatched it. This moron then starts a big fight with me that I "had no right to shoot the deer after he shot it first". Huh? Itold him he was trespassing and get the hell off the property. I was SO angry that I wanted to shoot this guy for forcing my hand to fill my tag when I didn't want to. Arrow Nocker... Prosecute, Prosecute, Prosecute. I contacted the DEC with his license plate and they are aware of it. He also hid his back tag when I asked for his numbers. It is a really nice 8 that I wanted to live but had to harvest. I re-posted the property heavy this year.
  16. He's awesome. Hope he makes a mistake and get's within range...unfortuntely he won't make many...I guarantee that. Best of luck CF.
  17. Other side of the river... Orange co.
