My buddy arrowed a 9pt 152 3/8 (after deductions) in Westchester last year. Had official from NY BigBuck club come measure it. The 8 in the photo, with deductions, is at best in the low 140's. He's is a very nice deer for sure. The rack is just not heavy enough mass wise. My buddy's base circums were 6 inch's.

Yes. He really does look young. He's no more than 2 1/2 if that much. Like NYH said..he'll be a slammer if he makes it through to next year. It would be really tough to let him walk though.

Recently pulled one of the chips from my trail camera and got this really nice 6 pointer. Hopefully he stops by and pays me a visit sometime this week.. Let me know what you think... good luck all !!

I have 4 StealthCam Sniper Pro IR's with external 12v. Trigger speed is a little slower than others but the videos and photos are great. 8mp. I give them a thumbs up. Only had 1 fail and I mailed it to them and they gave me a brancd new one.. not a refurb. I get 3 to 4 months on the external. With the 6 internal C cells about 3 weeks.

I smoke and do play the wind. I've killed many very nice bucks even just after lighting up. I agree with Fletch as I hunt an area with odors that the deer are used to. I think it matters it an area more remote. Most deer that I see when smoking, even if the wind circles toward them, just don't give it another thought. That's my experience.

JDS... It's a HUGE money maker for the stud rights on these farm raised deer. Not wierd considering the amount of money these guys make. Hell, I'd change my profession to raise and interact with bucks like that. They pay 10K for each tube of seman from a buck like that. You have a few giants like that and you're doing good.

Never know sam...but it's defintely possible. Don't understand the... "Reports on the incident were being prepared for the Houston County attorney, which will determine what, if any, charges to pursue." ?? Makes you wonder if the guy is going to get a tresspassing ticket and walk.

Go to a hair supply store and buy 30% peroxide but use gloves. The three I did came out sugar white. Just had to use small wire brush to remove some of the hanging cartilage, Soaked them for 5 days. No skull deteriation.

It's defintely heating up again. Had a small 8 on the lawn with chasing 2 baldies. Glad the weather is colder for sure.

I know a farmer close by that has 10 nuisance permits. He filled them all AT NIGHT. Although I took a nice 8 pointer on 11/20, I think the SW winds combined with the warm temps really didn't help IMHO. Early bow was pretty good here in 3M and slowly dropped off until gun started. It's very dead now here also.

I have no symapthy for any of these people. After almost getting shot by a tresspasser this year they should all hang (see "tresspassers...thoughts on a situation" in deer hunting). The penalties are too lax and they know it. Pisses me off to read some of the their comments.. speeding ticket? These people have no respect for others property... and themselves. DEC should implement a manadatory suspension of hunting priveleges if your busted for a year or two.

t-barb. Ben shooting a Savage in 30.06 and I absolutely love it. If you do get the .270, try and get a box of Reminton Accutips. A little pricey but not to bad and they shoot great out of the Savages. Tried Winchesters, and Federals out of the gun and couldn't get as tight groups. Just a fyi...

Toss up here. I'd take either one. If the angle is too sharp I'm not shooting and I'll wait to see if something better presents itself. My Savage shoot very tight groups. confidence helps also.
