I tried my luck at sacandaga River west, but I saw a guy there and he said there where no trout just bass and pickerel, so I moved on but with all the back roads closed i didn’t find anywhere to go. This morning I went to the town of Ohio and tried west Canada creek the sign said brook trout. It was a really nice area,but it started raining and my hunting boot sprung a leak. I’m heading back out just not sure where. Bringing the waders this time. Those wooly buggers look awesome coming through the water.

Been a rough four days. All the roads are still closed so I’m limited to paved roads which everyone else is hunting too. Not one gobble, but did call in a lone hen. Might head down to the southern zone tomorrow. I haven’t hunted down there in 8 years, but at this point I have nothing to lose. Congrats on all the nice birds so far!!! That sucks I just started using there bullets in my muzzleloader.I'm going to email them and ask about this.I did buy them from midsouth shooters not Barnes.

I was hoping to get the drys to try that "dry dropper" left field mentioned.Maybe I'll give the tandem a shot.I didn't even catch a fish yet and this is turning into a new hobby.

I meant if I take a dozen casts and don't get a hit do I change the fly or keep move up stream?

Got some of the flies today. There all nymphs and wooly buggers and smaller mumic hogs. The rest are on back order. It’s going to be easy to cast these compared to the saltwater flies. I can’t wait to get out there and give them a shot. How many cast roughly before changing flies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For me anyway there calling for rain every morning the whole 11 days I have off. Typical I don’t mind and kinda like turkey hunting in a little rain it’s the down pours that keep me in the house. I’ve actually hunted in freak spring snow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The way I sighted in my red dots was with bird shot.I set up a piece of cardboard 12 yards away took a shot and then moved the dot to the hole second shot was dead on.Maybe try that with your bead if it keeps hitting low get one of the sights Airedale or doewhacker mentioned I have both they work.

Just placed a order got almost everything listed above and strayed on two bh birds nest black and bh green bean couldn't help it they looked to cool to pass up.Mostly in 8-10-12 sizes. Even got a fly box to put them in fancy. should be here by mid-week fingers crossed. Thanks a bunch guys much appreciated.
