ya i'll be out in the same park different parking spot. They where all over the place on the way home. Friday and Saturday look like a wash but i'm hoping to get out I have off until Tuesday then it's pick and choose until the end of the month. on a side note a lot of 2.5 year olds with no antlers where taken off private and town land. Tomorrow the bino's come out and if I can't tell if it's a buck or doe it walks.I personally won't shoot an antlerless buck if it can be avoided.

That’s a warp for today. My brother didn’t see any deer just a bunch of turkey. Hitting it again tomorrow.

Heading back in the snow softened so it a lot quiter to move around. Passed four more turkey on the way out but they where camera shy. There always seems to be one hobbling.
-
Heading back to refuel for the afternoon. Haven’t heard a shot yet or from my brother with six kids he probably enjoying the quiet lol

Yes I’m on state land with the gun. Seems like it’s just me and my brother out here. I’ve been following this rubline for an hour.

The more turkey these are all long beards.

Thanks for the info I don’t really keep up with what’s going on here on Long Island. But from what I’m seeing today there’s no real shortage of deer. To be honest I thought the op was asking about Brookhaven lad.

perch and crappy are going to be my target fish this year.I've caught them before but never eat them. If I hook up i'm going to try a few. Those fillets look really good.

I say it every year, put more time in hunting different game and a little less time on chasing deer.

How many types of game animals have you hunted in your life

Pretty much the same as most. the one I really miss is the bobwhite qual.Nothing like a cubby flushing to get the blood pumping. -
My father has that blue lamp. He used it when him and his buddy's would go spearing through the ice out on the bay[saltwater] they would come home with all kinds of creatures berried in the mud.He had a few lamps that screwed onto a big battery.I love going over his house and seeing stuff hanging/sitting in the same spot from forever.lol

That is insane and dangerous .I'm surprised the fire marshal isn't shutting them down and handing out fines.

I've had a few plumping problems in the past that why I don't mess with it. In December the antifreeze was like a slushy in the bowl. The first winter I went up the door swelled and I had to go throw a window.

I was planning on staying there for two nights coyote hunting. Not sure it would be worth turning the water pump on my concern there is the main pipe would be frozen.I was going to bring water and fill the toilet tank as needed and take sailor showers. I'm wondering if thawing the house out then letting it freeze again when I leave would do any damage.I was going to heat it with the wood burner then turn on the forced hot air[kerosene} after it warms up.

I've been wanting to go up to my house and see how things are up/in there.I haven't been up there since December.I normally go once a month but as everyone knows these temp. have been brutal . I've asked a few buddy's of mine with camps/cabins none of them ever go up in the winter so no info there. My concern is thawing out the house then letting it freeze again seems to me it would cause damage, but really have no idea what would happen if anything. The house was winterized. What do you folks think?

They where collecting heads and blood samples at ridge a few years ago. They've always aged and weighed deer there no matter where it was taken on the island.I don't know if they cut it back to those two areas only.
