I believe it is a DEC site but there isn't a local DEC office near as I can tell. I guess I'll start with DEC and see where it takes me. I normally wouldn't care but its so local I could hit it almost whenever but guys are parking at room or so and leaving cars overnight. Spots are limited I am all for first come first served but it really is getting under my skin.

Who do I call about overnight parkers at the Kings Park area? I would like to get in but the overnight leaving you car thing to hold the spot is getting old.

The amount of itch borders insanity but its not my first run in with them so it seems slightly more bearble. Thankfully I did not pick up many! To put it in perspective I would rather have a poison ivy encounter. Thankfully my exposure this time was minimal. I've done this ride a few times in my day chiggers and fleas were common place in the sandy areas I'm from and hunted.

Many people I've talked to on Long Island never heard of them I'm from South Jersey and all too familiar with them. In case anyone is curious Long Island does have them and they fired my ankles up! Even with pemithrine which is odd, if you were in the Caverton area and itching like a mofo and don't know why... Look em up and be prepared for a non stop week long itch. Dann.. I love the woods LOL!

Bummer... How early is too early or does it not matter as long as I'm not actively trying to hunt before sunrise?

How early can I go in? The rules seem vauge at best.

First year hunting bow on LI. Came from South Jersey one could simply find state land on the side of the road and walk in... With all the open state land and art of bow hunters you would think it would similar here. I guess I could. Don't want to be the jerk my first season out.

This sucks. Someone found the same spot as me and I'm trying to find a new spot as parking is limited where I'm setup... Sigh... What to do what to do...

Are all state / county parks open for hunting as long as they are not posted or just the parks shown on Suffolk parks and DEC site?
