I have the same stand and never felt unsafe with the two LW straps. I do use their EZ hook to make things easier. You could certainly add a ratchet strap for extra piece of mind, but for me a lifeline and the harness keeping me constantly secured to the tree is my safety plan.

I have a T3X Stainless Lite in .308. Absolutely love it. Accurate, lightweight, smooth action and great balance. Also batting 1.000 on 1-shot kills. Sounds like you're getting a deal, but that wouldn't stop me from starting at a lower price so you have money left for an optic and rings.

Interesting. Sounds much more credible and plausible than this current news flash from the DEC. Your typical Saratoga suburbanite gets all jazzed up about the "coy" dogs running amuck. They can't comprehend that actual coyotes exist. Now there are mountain lions in my backyard? I'll believe it when I see it. *grin*

1 woman over for cocktails turned into 4 and pics were redacted in a NY minute! Multiple EQ Middletown Waves and MC² went down. Sipping a big, beautiful KBS afterwards is my equivalent of smoking a cigarette!

Best $250 bucks I ever spent. Those free-standing pits wear out quickly. I built this in an afternoon and was drinking by the fire after dinner.

My brother lives in Santa Cruz, loves it there. Really enjoyed the Waves, but complained that I should have brought more of it! My brother is pretty much a hippie, but a widely known personality among those who practice Sheng Zhen. He doesn't seek out the good beers, the good beers magically find their way into a glass in front of him.
