Heady Topper or Focal Banger? Focal or Heady? Which one is better?!? Heady? Man, what a beer! Top notch DIPA that really nails the hops flavor from start to finish. If Goldilocks made a DIPA, this would be it. Believe the hype, this beer is awesome! That said, I find Focal Banger more crushable and prefer its citra and mosaic hops blend. There is no wrong answer here, but "for me", it's Focal > Heady.

Mac n cheese, take #2. Much better outcome! I went for a more traditional version focusing on three cheeses, adding milk and baking for just 20 minutes in the skillet. Tastes great, but I'm going to play around with this some more. Once I get the base receipe figured out, I'll make different versions using bacon, stout beer, chicken, shrimp and lobster chunks.

I plan to test that theory shortly.

Somewhere along the line I read a review stating that Beelzebub might be Alchemist's best beer. Well, it isn't. This brew is as creamy and malt-roasty as any imperial stout that I've had, but the hops overtake the glass and finish in the most demonic of ways. I want no part of this, but then, I can't put it down. This one is for the hops obsessed and stout lovers of strong faith.

Finally, my first Focal Banger! Pours a golden color with thick, creamy head. Huge juice bomb on the nose and my favorite hops, citra and mosiac, exploding over my taste buds! Wow, this might be the best IPA I've ever had. Phenomenal beer and I am instantly regretting only asking aboa to pick me up a single. Love the hippy can message: "DON'T BE A D-BAG, RECYCLE THIS CAN!"

Nice! Does this even compare to anything else you've had? The brew process is unlike anything else I've seen. Very curious to try this one.

You need to wash those down with a bottle of CBS! WOW!!

Every single mock draft has them taking Haskins at #6, but the reality is that they desperately need guys who can rush the passer. Convince me that Haskins is as good as or better than the top 4 guys last year? Can't do it. Maybe Lock at #17-ish entices them or they deal for Rosen (assuming Murray goes #1 to AZ), but the priority has to be the stud lineman at the top of this draft. The defense, as it stands right now, is pretty much gutted.

"The Shining" made for a great horror flick and now a great beer. Foam's new 8% DIPA is a juice bomb loaded with mango and pineapple flavors. Super smooth feel with only the slightest bitterness on the finish. So good, I want to break the door down for more! Best of the 4 Foam beers that I tried.

I agree, but truth be told I was pissed when the Giants passed up Aaron Donald to draft Beckham instead. OBJ turns 28 in November and another injury-shortened, tabloid-making season would kill any future trade value and just piss off the front office even more. AB always showed up. Besides, it's not like OBJ did jack in the one playoff game he played in. Only reason I even tune in any more is because of Saquon. The NFL is all about the money and most players care way more about their cha-ching than winning a ring. Saquon is a rare player and man in this day and age.

Getting ready to watch the Fantastic Beasts sequel with my daughter and needed an appropriate beverage. Ommegang has always been a favorite of mine and this Barrel-Aged Vanilla Smoked Porter had been on my radar since release. Dominanting smokey, vanilla bean flavor embraces the glass and floods the palate, finishing with the warmth of good bourbon. I can only imagine how this flavor profile would play out in an imperial stout! Uniquely Ommegang, this is one to savor.

Center of the Sun is a collab beer between Equilibrium and Civil Society, the latter not being a brewer that I've sampled before. Pours a dark orange color with a thin to medium head. Tangerine notes were first to jump on the nose and taste, then a lemon zest, but the pilsner influence is apparent throughout all aspects of this beer. Brewer's description lists Mosiac, Azzaca, Lemondrop and Simcoe Cryo hops for this 8.4% DIPA, but I'm stuck on the pilsner taste. Maybe I'm just too biased to that EQ Juice profile to show this beer enough love? Final answer: it's fun to sample (thanks Mrs. aboa!), but not a collab brew that I would go out of the way to track down.
