dude your a blithering idiot. what part of I didnt shoot at him. is there something I am missing here or are you just as confused as hell.
Yea but did the guy know that ? He could have easily freaked out and shot back and claimed he feared for his life and shot you in self defence and since you were armed and shot first he would have gotten off and you could be dead right now .
Next time i would try not using your gun and juat tell the guy f off my property before I call the cops its that simple .
You cant say things like I will kill or shoot you to people or shoot a gun next to them . They can press charges against you.

I would entertain the possibility of forming a partnership with a couple of other like minded guys. It works with the right people. I am not a fan of hunting public land and open minded to any and all possibilities. Just food for thought. It is nice to be able to manage your own land and create better opportunities to harvest older deer. I have 4 friends that bought 500 acres in Georgia and they are going into their 11th year and it really works for them. I just don't want to sweat in my stand during bow season anymore!
You could also do a group lease something to think about makes it much easier

This video i dont find very scientific
You need to put the gun in a vice and you need to make it so the same amount of branches hits each bullet as it goes to the target for it to be a real scientific test.

I don't know much about these people or why they were "banished". If they are bad enough I bet trump could warn that if they are let in they will be sent back on January 21st.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYou got to figure if they are ok Australia would have let them stay there .
The dems have a habit lately of just letting everyone poo all over us .
-
Looks like the dems are at it again .talk about not getting the massege .
Americans just voted to have less illagal imgration especially Muslim immigration who alot hate us .
If these refuges are okay Australia would have kept them.
Like trump says are government really is stupid. Another perfect example of waste of taxpayer money.
US reportedly close to accepting hundreds of Australia's refugees |

They most definitely can. Deer can't see color we know that but they can see contrasts very well. That bright orange contrasts to the dark background so much that they can pick out that bright blob that wasn't there the previous day. When we planted new trees we used put up some stakes with bright orange fabric and reflective Mylar strips to keep animals away. It worked very well. I would recommend to anyone to wear an orange vest going to and from your hunting area and wearing at least a orange hat when sitting in a stand. If I were still hunting on the ground I would wear a vest the entire time.
Did that work over time i would imagine once the deer get used to the mylar strips and the smell of it that will not stop them .

ummm. yeah. I get that. I was explaining how the "movement looks
Any movement to a deer means Danger thats all it take for them to spook especially if it comes from an unnatural shape

I tried to find a video I saw years ago that showed blaze orange through a deer's eyes. it also used solid colors of shirts and pants. they all about looked the same. But Chas is right. any big blob or Color(a scale of gray to a deer's eyes) will show up easier to a deer against a muddled background of the woods. When I have my vest on in the stand I am very aware of things like raising my camo'd covered arms or turning quickly. In that video reference earlier I remember the hunter having a vest on and turning and it looked like a flashing gray light. like it was blinking. solid there. solid gone. solid there solid gone. food for thought.
Dont move and they dont notice you its your movement that they are spotting or smell or sounds

After looking more closely and looking at the leafs and grass for scale you can tell that is to small to be a mt lion

I have a ton of blackberry and blueberry plants where I'm at in 8p. We also get lots of pictures of bears on our cameras. I planted 12 apple trees about 3 years ago in 8n. They were 5' at the time. We started getting some fruit this year but even being in my backyard we lost 3 to buck rubs and the fruit was eaten before we could get to it. Good for the raccoons too. They ate the fruit. I will plant more apple trees for sure and I'm also going to look into planting hazel nut trees. They can start producing in 2-3 years depending on how big when you plant them and conditions.
Thats the problem I know he wants deer to come there but they may destory his plants before he ever gets a chance to kill them he may have to plant more then that so they dont kill them all .or fence some until they get big i hunt on a apple farm sometimes and they fence off all the young plants for that reason or the deer will kill them . And that is with hundreds of trees . With just few what chance do they have if you have lots of deer around .

So as some of you may know my wife, myself and our cousins bought a property this year. It's 25 acres and was recently selectively logged. Now I am the only one in the family that hunts. I want to put in food plots but also don't want to take up
A lot of the land for myself so I have come up
With a solution that so far everyone is on board with. I'm going to plant fruit!!! I've been looking around online and I'm going to buy 6 4 year old apple trees of different varietys. I was also thinking about buying 25 blackberry bushes 2 year olds... and also 4 or 5 elder berry bushes.... does anyone have any thoughts or advice on this idea?

well im guessing you have alot of deer around this place so the first thing your going to have to do is put up a deer fence or they will destroy your plants probably .

It is possible a mt lion from north dakota made it all the way to adks a few years back .
December 16, 2010. Lake George, New York, on the southeastern edge of the Adirondack Mountains. Out of twilight snow squalls, a cougar walked straight through a backyard near Lake George Village. The last confirmed mountain lion sighting in New York had been more than 100 years earlier.
DNA testing of hair left by the cat in its tracks later proved it was indeed a cougar. It ultimately headed south toward Interstate 95 in Connecticut; in the end, the cougar was killed on the highway.
The mountain lion came from South Dakota’s Black Hills. It could just as easily have trekked into the Northeast from states such as Oklahoma and Missouri, says biologist Michelle LaRue of the University of Minnesota. LaRue is also the executive director of the Cougar Network, an organization dedicated to studying the role of cougars in ecosystems. Cougars are returning to many of their former haunts in the Midwest and beyond, LaRue says.

My opinion is that if you shoot at someone who has a orange vest on you should go to jail for a year no excuse for that . That will make people think twice before they pull that trigger at a bush or sound .

If i can i will only take 6 point or better.
I have dmp tag if i just want a deer for meat and there are plenty of them around . When it gets to the end of season i may lower my standers a little depends .

So I can cut a bunch of stuff down and pile it up and watch it like a baitpile?
Get a few rags dip them in a sent that deer like and hang them on some tree limbs just out of the reach of any deer .
The law says you can use a sent as long as they cant eat it so you can use anything you like as long as its out of reach of them being able to eat it .

A big part of the reason i hunt is just to stay active this time of year i make it a point to walk as far as i can when hunting on public land usally you have to if you want to see anything , but i do it just for the exercise alot of the times anyway.
-
Well if you dont have access to land or its really far away people after while just stop going especially if they don't get anything after a few times or years of going .

your an idiot people stand closer to the front of guns on a range . get a grip dude cant you think in three dimensions. Let me irritate this to you in a language that may help you ... the guy was more than half o foot ball field to my left, and about as far in front of me as your television is in front of your couch. i hope that helps.
@ Deerstalker even if it was a bad idea ,the outcome was a smashing success. look just because i have the balls to do what i did and in a safe manner .i think i was just ,after a verbal warning the guy just stood there .guess he didnt hear me in that quiet field.
You could have started a gun fight over trespassing not worth it , i dont know if the guy saw you shooting at his dirction or not but if he did legally he could have shot back at you and claimed self defense .
Just something to think about next time that happens . If you want to us your gun as a alarm next time i suggest shooting at the ground away from anyone so they dont get the wrong idea .
Once again i dont know what exactly happened im not judging you. But usually firing a gun near someone is a bad idea .

What makes or breaks certain hunters?
in Deer Hunting
Posted
Alot of it comes down to 2 things TIME !!!! and money .
Spending the( time )to know where the deer are at and money to either get to a place that has lots of deer or buy land that has a lot of deer on it .
Most people probably not lucky enough to have really good hunting area near where they live so that means spending money to either travel to find a good public spot or buy/ lease land then possible spending even more time and money planting crops to attract deer there .
