  1. My turkey gun is a Mossberg 500. Its a great gun!
  2. I got a Diamond Razors Edge for my daughter and it is an awesome bow that she can shoot for the rest of her life if she wishes. Unfortunately they do not make them anymore. What replaced it is the Diamond Infinite Edge and it is a far better bow. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Diamond-Archery-Infinite-Edge-Bow-Package-mdash-Pink-Blaze/1423753.uts?productVariantId=3332431&WT.tsrc=CSE&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03576222&rid=40&channel=GoogleBaseUSA&mr:trackingCode=FF29EBCB-F63B-E211-BA78-001B21631C34&mr:referralID=NA&mr:adType=pla&mr:ad=27491244311&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:filter=52254398951&gclid=CIHhtLXi3rcCFUyZ4AodnnoA8Q Check out the video at the bottom of the link I just bought one for my son's birthday next week and I am so impressed with this bow. Anyone can shoot it and it is very adjustable for any shooter. And look at the price for a completely set-up bow. All you have to buy extra are arrows and a release.
  3. I agree with Wooly to a point where I don't think it's easy (at first) but it's fun to feed yourself with what you harvest. That is why 90% of the red meat my family eats is venison. We eat it at least once or twice week. Outdoor Life magazine recently reported that 75% of all antibiotics made go into farm animals. Years ago I made a decision to have my family eat healthier and we would cut out almost all of the beef in our diet. Remember like Wooly said, the hardest part is finding a good hunting spot. Hunting itself is not as easy as it looks on TV. But with years of time and practice you can become a proficient hunter. Then it will become easier.
  4. Wasn't it nice! Now if I can get a couple days of this to dry out my swamp.....err...oops...I mean garden so I can finish tilling it I will be really happy.
  5. I used to live in Owego. Good times! Nice fish btw.
  6. Geez! Tough luck. Hope things pick up for you.
  7. Last year I visited the frogging grounds of my youth only to find nothing. Must be the acid rain got them.
  8. I'm trying to wrap my mind around why some are in favor of AR. I was flipping channels some time ago and "Whitetail Freaks" was on and they were featuring Kandi Kisky on her farm. She was in a ground blind over a food plot. She had a dozen or more bucks in front of her but was still waiting for that monster buck. I thought to myself how unexciting that kind of hunting must be and I was glad for the rush that I get when any buck steps into view. If this is what AR is all about, leave me out of it.
  9. I'm informed that the NYS Teachers Union will not endorse emperor Andy in the next election. After crapping on all of the union State employees I doubt he will be endorsed by them as well. The hard part will be making him look weak in the NYC region. They love him down there. Our votes up here mean absolutely nothing without the NYC vote.
  10. I don't believe a deer travels 6 miles per day after the opening day of southern tier. The big bucks find sanctuary and sit it out till the shooting stops. Maybe a little traveling at night but they always go back to their hiding place before the sun comes up.
  11. My sweet corn is about an inch high. Now if it would just stop raining and the kids sports would end, I can get the rest in.
  12. BS!! Why can't these trophy hunters leave the rest of us alone. You hunt your way on your hill and I will hunt my way on mine.
  13. I have read the link. What does this bill mean? Will this be a 3 on one side rule like the AR zones to the southeast?
  14. That bear is probably trolling for that fawn. Cool pics!
  15. Last Wednesday I was in Gander Mountain for another reason and I saw Remington Thunderbolts for $2.49 a box of 50. They would only let me have 2 boxes but it gave me something to shoot on Saturday.
  16. I love little fawn pics! Thanks for sharing.
  17. Mine is not in yet. Been too busy coaching baseball. Hope to get it in on Fathers Day weekend.
  18. I agree! 3 out of 5 of us saw one on the opening day of deer season near Eaton. Nobody had ever seen one before that.
  19. Hey all, Have you ever heard of the Ruger Rimfire Challenge? If not, here is a video that explains a little about it. A group of us at our local range wanted to do something pro-active with guns. We wanted to get some kids on the range with their parents and show the media some good responsible gun use. So we contacted Ruger and arranged to have the Ruger Rimefire Challenge come to New York State, http://www.ruger.com/micros/rugerRimfire/index.html?r=y This will be the ONLY Rimfire Challenge in all of NYS so if you want to give it a try we are the only deal in town. There are only about 15 spots left on the roster and this weekend is the last practice session. If you are short on .22 ammo we have a limited amount available at VERY low Pre-SafeAct prices. Here is our home web page, http://www.nnyrimfirechallenge.com/ If you have any questions or would like to sign-up you can contact the event coodinator Bob at this email address, [email protected] I hope see some of you there, I will be a Stage Range Officer in one of the bays with my daughter as my score keeper. Edit: Forgot to mention there be plenty of prizes and raffles.
  20. Had that happen 2 years ago and yes it sucks. When you go to buy you new freezer buy $24 worth of this insurance so it never happens again. http://www.opticsplanet.com/hb-instrument-company-vwr-digital-refrigerator-freezer-thermometer-with-alarm-3804.html?gclid=COzH-7T3zLcCFZSe4AodzC0Amg&ef_id=Q39NcAeqGg8AAAMu:20130605123740:s
  21. WOW! Is that maple syrup under the reloading table? Looks like you have a nice play room. And yes, be careful of the fuel tank.
