Camp-Hi-Tor

New to this website and hoping for advice on hunting Hi Tor - I have been fortunate enough the last 40 years to hunt private property (used to be our family farm). This is the first year since losing the privilege to hunt on "OUR FAMILY FARM" that 1.) I am hunting and 2.) Will be hunting NYS owned public land. This is mind, I have purchased a cabin in Italy, NY near Hi Tor - so of course I am going to give it a shot. Have you hunted Hi Tor opening day of gun season? Is it busy? Safe? I would appreciate any stories and advice members have for this newbie. Thank you.

Hey Grampy! I am new to this website and old time hunter (40 years or so). I am planning a hunt at Hi Tor WMA. Have you or any of your followers hunted Hi Tor? I have been hunting the Barrington NY area since the late 1970's but we lost the farm! So, I bought a cabin in the Italy NY area. What can you offer as advice for opening day at Hi Tor? I'd appreciate any comments. Thank you.
