  1. I agree that using someone elses stand is rude, disrespectful and down right wrong. But what i don't agree with,is the claiming a certain spot by placing your stand there.Once you put that stand there it is now your spot.So if i come along scouting the area and find a nice spot i like then look to my right and see your stand, the nice thing to do would move on to find another spot.I don't know about the cornell ground, but i don't think it is as large as happy valley or conniticuit hill where you have another 5,000 acres to choose from.

But it is the way it is in areas that allow permanent stands.first come first serve.

  2. Bubba you know damn well harassment is all about actions taken in context. Someone cranking their music on their land is not illegal. Someone doing so purposely to harass a hunter IS. Same thing.

But trying to prove it is a whole other story.Trust me.I deal with it all the time.I don't even bother with making a call. Why?Cause it isn't worth it.I will have to prove that they are doing it to harass me.Good luck on that one.The law enforcement have many more "real" issues to deal with than a childish dispute. Now if they were walking through thee woods banging on pots and pans and screaming and crap.I would have a case.

  3. Your going to bow a little squirrel ?? at 40 yards !!!!!!!!!!!

    I'd bet $1000 against it.

    i would take that bet.

Shouldn't be so quick to assume on peoples capabilities.Just cause you don't have confidence in your archery skill doesn't mean others aren't capable of it.

  4. We have computer data bases don't we? Sorry if it's discrimination but folks with mental illness should be registered in a data base. cross reference with registered fire arms. if you are registered with mental illness you have to give up what ever weapons you already own. Like sex offenders can't live in a house offering day care. Folks with mental illness can't live in a house with firearms or own them themselves.

    like that would work.funny.

  5. Here's a video of a 275lb feral hog being taken with a 430 grain .45 hollowpoint out of an air rifle. The exit wound is small, but the hog goes 1 yard if that. Caution, the video is quite graphic, including a slow mo of the pig rolling over on it's side and exsanguinating. The exit wound is essentially a fountain of blood.

There's no realistic reason these weapons should not be legal for big game hunting, excepting politics. Already in this thread someone brought up the strawman "OH NOES FELONS WILL BUY THEM" nonsense. Big bore air rifles are expensive, and the support equipment necessary to use them makes them inconvenient at best. Why would a person who is already bent on committing a crime spend thousands of dollars to buy a huge, non-concealable air gun that gets between 2 and 5 shots per charge when he can just spend $500 to buy a stolen hi-point out of tony pepperoni's trunk? That dog don't hunt. Never let logic get in the way of a good appeal to emotion though.

I was the one who asked about the felons thing.I have a cousin that used to hunt with a mzldr untill the new law.Now he can only bow hunt.So i lost a partner on some outings cause he doesn't wan't to bother hunting big woods with the bow.Thats why i asked. Not because i am worried.LOL.but i know that just .177 or .22 pellet guns for small game are expensive for the high power ones.(benjamin for like 460.00)So i know like you stated that 800-1200 $ for an air rifle is not in his budget.LOL.But if it were,i would like to know if he could get one.But then again.its basicly like shooting a bow.I mean whats the distance of one of these.50 yds?It is more of a handicap thing for some sportsmen. It is the long bow of guns.

  6. Like any one is going to take a handgun into the police station to get money for it.Do you think a criminal that somehow aquired an illegal hand gun is going to go into the police station with it to sell it to them? They are going to want to know how the person got it.And probably check their background to see if they are a felon.Never going to happen.

I agree with culver.get the wackos of streets and tighten down the judicial system.Guns arent the problem.its the wackos getting them.

  7. Move.Or at least thats my wife answer for my PITA neighbor."lets just move".like its like trading in a truck for a new one or something.I can't hunt behind my house in the afternoon. They see me go out back with my bow and they fire up the wheelers and run up and down the hill and around the little 1 acre bedding area down there. Its fine for the first 10 mins as maybe they push something to me.After that its annoying. Then they like to get out the shotguns and target shoot. So i don't even hunt there in the evening.Hard to prove hunter harassment since they are doing normal activities.Banging on pans is for sure hunter harassment.
