Any of you guys go? Is it worth it? Any tips? Out in Buffalo with wife and daughter to do Niagara Falls and find out Wing Fest is this weekend. Gonna hit Sophia's for breakfast and then Buffalo zoo tomorrow. Its either wings or museums after that.... Staying downtown on Main Street so easy train ride from our hotel. Got in a some small ADK lake kayak bass fishing this weekend. Caught a bunch mostly in the 14 to 16 inch range. Daughter caught a 20 inch northern (no pic). Lots of fun. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

What's the coldest temperature you can remember hunting in

A few years ago last day of southern zone gun season. Was 7 below when we pulled into our property before daylight. Sat until noon and it was 10 degrees when we got back in truck. -
I wait to dig mine up after a good killing frost. I once ground my whole harvest at once using my wife's food processor in the kitchen - big mistake. I now just use a box grater and only do enough to last a couple weeks. The roots will last a long time in the back of the fridge. After you have it grated, add vinegar until it is the consistency you want. Once grated, a chemical reaction occurs that gives it its heat. The vinegar stops the reaction. The longer you wait, the hotter it will be (supposedly).

Mossberg 500 12ga. Up until last year it is all I have ever hunted with. I hope I get to break in the 7mm-08 this fall. -
Sounds like you had a great day. Scrambles are always fun regardless of the skill level. Drinking and the camaraderie is where its at.

Picking a couple cucumbers and yellow squash every day for the last couple weeks. First crop of beans are about ready to pick. Just started picking hungarian wax and jalapenos. Cherry peppers are close. Tomatoes seem a little behind. Radishes and corn crapped out.

Like the cast iron. is that a Griswold or Wagner? Also, the Hayburner rocks!

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. My daughter had her first a few weeks ago and requested we replicate it. She pronounced it is now her "Favorite thing to eat ever!" Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Well, since I started this thread asking what people's favorite hot dogs are, I have had hot dogs from across the upstate I-90 corridor. Based on other's recommendations, Sahlen's from Buffalo and Zweigle's from Rochester. My two favorites, Hoffman's from Syracuse and White Eagles from Schenectady. And even a couple packs of good old Ball Parks. My verdict is in..........White Eagles hands down.

Pretty good for the 15.99 12-pack price at our local Price Chopper. In my opinion it is as good as some of the $19 4-pack pale ales & IPAs I've had recently. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Wow that really sucks. I hope you find the scumbags.

Cool! We did check out the QDMA display but I don't think anyone was manning it when we were there. We might have to make it up to Schaghticoke this year too!

I grew up going to the Altamont Fair in Albany county but it has really gone down hill in the last 10 to 15 years. Today we went to the Saratoga County Fair for the first time and I thought it was great. Reminded me of the Altamont Fair of my youth. Had a great midway of rides for the kids and had a real large area dedicated to the agriculture, farm animals, 4H, environmental, outdoors sporting stuff, etc. Definitely will be going back next year.

MED/NONE for my WMU. Not great but better than recent years where it has been NONE/NONE or Preference Points/NONE. Which is frustrating as we have the opportunity to harvest a doe almost every time we hunt during gun season.

Learned from my Dad and Grandfather and reading a lot of Outdoor Life and Field & Stream when I was a kid. My dad started taking me with him on deer hunts as soon as I could sit still for an all day hunt - probably around age 10 or so.

Steak, baked beans, roasted red peppers, home grown cukes, first local farmers corn of the year sauteed with some homegrown yellow squash. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Taco Sunday. Didn't get a pic of all the fixins - lettuce, onion, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, refried beans, salsa, hot sauce - because we were too hungry. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

That pepperoni looks solid. I like pies that have toppings right to the edge and a thin crisp edge crust.

Meatball and onion from a place here in Albany called The Fountain.

I've got a 14 foot Sportspal that is fairly light and I can handle myself to put on a vehicle. Put a motor mount on it for an electric trolling motor. But as some others have said, I think you would be real happy with a 12 foot aluminum v-hull or johnboat on a trailer. More stable, more room, more comfortable.
