I shoot one and love it. Many people were trying to "Improve" on the already speedy loads and in my opinion overcharging. Using duplex loads was another way to get blown up. I only shoot a factory recommended loading.

I have made both sliced and extruded. Personal preference is for sliced.Google Alton Browns jerky recipe. We really like it. I've made a batch of it and a teriyaki batch so far. My son says his jaw hurts he eating so much of it! Next will be some bourbon jerky.

We had deer on camera eating tops from September on. After it frosted they started on the bulbs. They like the daikon radishes too, another reason to add some to the mix. I planted several whitetail institute products this year. Last year seed from Agway was a little disappointing. Biologic clover was really good, had deer bedding in it. I won't put in any power plant again, none of the sun hemp grew. No pods on the peas or beans. I have been buying seed direct from whitetail institute, get on the email list for sales. Just ordered Fusion @ buy 2 get 1 free. Also free shipping. They have ran the sales right along. Have most of what I need for next year already. Got to use the best plot seed I can to draw the deer over from Let Em Grow's.

Was that fellow from Newark? Or is there 2 guys with the same affliction?

I planted about an acre of Tall Tines 3rd week of July. Grew great. One thing I did was added a 1/2# of daikon radishes to it for the area that hadn't been plotted before. They really break up the hard pan. Also have been incorporating pellet lime every year with a 3pt cone spreader. Bulk won't go through the cone. Wish I had access to a bulk spreader, its cheaper. Also planted Winter Greens, deer are using both.

Sick to stomach, explained it perfect. I hunt for enjoyment. If i don't feel right I don't do it. We work harder for our deer but I enjoy hunting with my son and want it to stay that way.

Used to years ago. Same A-HOLE outlaw friend from Maine of my brother in law, shot at my son who was on watch, 2years running. Parted company with that group. He Never even apologized. Still makes me boil to this day. He's here hunting now. Anyone hunting between Prattsburgh and Naples watch out.

A few years back, a friend of mine arrowed his best buck ever from a wheelchair with a broken leg. Covered up with a camo blanket, wheeled out back to the woods, backed into some brush. After he shot him he laid on to the ground and gutted then crawled back to house. Called stepson to get him in house and recover deer a couple hours later. He was in his late 60's at the time.

First year with this,

It's a straight 3x. As far as the range dots working, I try to keep things simple when bowhunting due to the close proximity of the deer. I spent some time working with them using a rangefinder. Starting at 20 yds working out to 50 readjusting as needed. I f I'm an inch high or low at each range thats within minute of deer. Then take the rangefinder to an elevated position and practice so you'll know how to hold in the stand. I range and memorize from the tree stand, then it's cruise control when the pressure is on. An inch or two up or down still knocks em dead. Then it's the broadheads job. Now on my long range guns it's a different story. I have the Nikon spot on chart taped to my stock.

My son and I both swapped out to the Nikon bolt. Real good scope as are all Nikon's. The cross hairs lined right up to the yardages on our xbows.

It had a bunch, but that one is a prick tick.

Yup, PB&J. Trail mix, water, thermos of coffee, hard candy with wrappers removed, jerky. When I'm staying in the stand all day.

8N Bucks were running hard yesterday. Tounges hanging out, chasing. Morning and afternoon.

Ticks are bad this year. Son got a buck yesterday and the poor guy had a real mean tick...

I seem to lose a tree stand every year. We hunt a small piece of private land not too far from the landowners house. There is a stand on 2 sides of a bedding area. Last week my son was in one and the guy came to mow the owners lawn. After mowing he must have took a walk into the woods and spotted the other stand. Son said he heard metal clanking and thought it sounded like the stand. He got down and headed for the road and caught the guy with the stand at his truck. Son is a big guy in his 30's, and he was really letting the a-hole have it but the landowner came home and saved him.

Found this walking to my stand this afternoon, fresh since yesterday morning. Actually a line of several, but this one is new. 50 yards from stand. 8N.

Mathews, Muzzy 90gr. 4 blades on carbon express. Barnett, Muzzy 125gr. Crossbow 3 blades on Bloodsport bolts. Kilt a bunch of deer in the past with Rocket Wolverine folders, until I saw the penetration of the Muzzys. Switched over and have been happy.
-
Check your Forward Of Center (FOC) on the arrow setup your using. Checked mine as I would with any arrow when I was having a similar situation. Changed to 125gr. crossbow muzzys, problem solved. Not enough front weight to get consistent flight from exposed blades. I really don't like covering up problems so I don't have issues when the chips are down. Search arrow FOC for instructions.

Looks like you may get a chance at seeing that Buck too. Nephew is in the house just north of the bend on east side. (Only house between bend and Fritz). That pic was taken right in the field behind his house, backs up to woods you hunt then. Small world! We'll have to meet sometime.
-
Haven't seen many turkeys there. Planted sunflowers and millet that may entice them to hang out. Our woods are kind of a funnel area between open field and the road. Hope some deer start moving in the daylight this week. I have a nephew who lives on Hemlock just south of Fritz Hill. We had a drop time buck last year that we saw before, during and after season last year. I was looking at pictures of my nephews this year and he has him there now. Maybe a mile away. Much nicer this year. This year pic. Then last year pic.

Deer are really on the turnips and radishes already. Surprised that they are eating them this early before freezing some. Cameras show it's mostly at night.
