  1. Yep, getting older has some advantages, just applied for SS. Dave
  2. Virgil, I don't know if you are following the controversy over Hydro Fracking for natural gas. In the Marcellus Shale or if you saw the movie Gas Lands but the EPA is not looking out for our best interest. The Gas Companies are not held to the same standards as local states are, they don't have to follow clean air, water act. Which out Gov't had exempted them from following our beloved hunting areas in NY will be decimated. Dave
  3. Thought it was a pig too. Dave
  4. You want me to back up my responses? Viet Nam, why did we go there? To stop the spread of communism. Did we win? Iraq, why did we go there ? Weapons of mass destruction, did we find any? Libya , Why the hell are we there in the first place? To stop civilian from being killed!! That is our current policy!! Than what about Syria, Yemen, Egypt , etc get my point? Our Gov't never went into Viet Nam to win it was politics , no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Who can define our policy in Libya? That's why I question the leadership of this country which was ones noble and proud. Dave
  5. First of all you don't know me to make such a statement. That seems to be what you do, make assumptions. I don't second guess or complain, I am a veteran and I stepped up for this country so don't assume you know me. It's the same Govt just different people that represent us. With Congress having a 17% approval rating more people are complaining than ever . They make the laws and set the policy that I feel is not in the best interest if this country especially the law biding citizens.Who pay the freight!!!!!!!!Dave
  6. Wooly, thanks I appreciate your help.Dave
  7. Virgil, read your post you asked what gov't are you referring to, did you not. I didn't think that spell check and punctuation mattered that much on a hunting site. I thought it was the issued, that's how lame your responses are when we are discussing gun ownership and crime. You come up with the crime of poor gramma and run on sentences which at times I must plead guilty. Hope no one else on this site is committing this crime. That is what makes your responses juvenile and childish :'( Who can take you serious?????????? Dave
  8. As far as I can remember there is only one Gov't in this country. You want reasons, do your homework and you will find the answers if I gave them to you , you wouldn't believe me anyway. Let the facts speak for themselves. I do question the motives of our elected officials, just look what shape this country is in, almost every state is broke. Who got us to this point????? Elected Officials, the people we should be able to trust, are you kidding me? I don't know how old you are but some of your responses on this thread are very juvenile . You just keep questioning every ones response and have none of your own you like to play the devils advocate. You have to be able to listen to learn, not just react. Dave
  9. Virgil you brought up the topic of not trusting the Gov't , I just gave some reasons why, sorry if that bothered you. I guess you probably believed Anthony Wiener too Dave
  10. Even veteran hunters like to see deer even if it's not a shooter. Dave
  11. Virgil, did you believe them when we went into Viet Nam, Iraq, Lybia. I don't trust this government but for one thing to waste our money and the lives of our military. Wake up don't be so nieve.Dave
  12. Bubba live to far away . When I am up cutting grass I am usually by myself so the job belongs to me. But the MoJack that Wooly gave me info on will do the trick, can't wait for it to come in.Dave
  13. Fathers Day was the best ever, went fishing in the Great South Bay with two of my sons. Caught 3 Fluke all under size so back they went, went for a dip the water was great. Then went back to the house that was on a canal took another dip to cool off. Doesn't get much better than that. But more to come when the boys and I got home my #3 son had a nice cake for me with a strange picture on it a sonagram .The cake had Happy Grandfathers day on it. Now that was the end of a best ever Fathers Day. Just had to share. Dave
  14. Wolly thanks for the information I ordered one from Tractor Supply in Liberty. It was the Mo Jack EZ and it was on sale for $179.99 Now I will not have to worry about the mower falling on my head.Dave
  15. Thats not all true... With the fields we created, even unplanted for years will have vegetation what would not grow there if it was a wooded lot. The same goes for when you thin out your tree's and cut trails. We hunted a old property when I was younger, there was no planting of anything there for 10+ years, yet it strives with wild grass, hay and other things. None the less, I don't think there ever needs to be justification for a food plot, it undoubtedly benefits all wildlife. I'm planting apple tree's on mine too, so I guess long after I'm gone, the next guy that hunts near it doesnt have to call it a food plot. John I have planted apple trees up state about 5 years ago and up to now they have not produced. But this year looks much better there were lots of buds and I am starting to see little apples on 6 of the 7 trees I have planted. And there are many not just two or three so I may have some apples to pick this year for me and the critters.?Dave
  16. If they were so concerned about the youth hunting programs they should be free. Dave
  17. To all Dads have a great Fathers Day, enjoy your family. Enjoy being Dad!!!!!!! ;D Dave
  18. So now we are hot to register ALL guns. That is exactly the escalation that I have come to expect from the anti-gun crowd. Anyway, aside from the many more important reasons against gun registration that have already been mentioned, let me also point out that with every registration system comes another huge government bureaucracy which of course requires a fee. And fees have a way of starting out rather small until they are fully accepted and then steadily growing until they become simply another route to practical confiscation. Not quite the same thing as auto registrations where the administrators have no desires to restrict car ownership. Yes, I can see where the anti-gun gang would love to have registration powers over all guns. At that point they could apply the lessons learned from cigarette taxation. That would provide yet another weapon to beat over the heads of law abiding gun owners ...... and by the way would provide yet another worthless system that would have no effect on crime or criminals. There really is no end to the inventiveness of the enemies of the 2nd amendment. Doc, talk about fees how about Nassau County $200 pistol license renewal and for what? To carry to and from the range and hunting where legal . Don't get much for $200 . can you see a criminal anting up the $200 ?Dave
  19. Inner Sanctum ??? I can hear the "squeaking , creaking door" ! ??? I knew someone might remember ???
  20. Eddie, I agree with you too the BS never stops!!!!!!!!Dave
  21. Exactly right why register an atv if you can use them on a road. I bought 2 atv about 12 yrs ago at Rusty Palmers in Pennsylvania I live on the other side of the Delaware in N.Y They delivered the quads to my house and I never registered them. Just use them on my property and during hunting season. Why should I pay NYS for that.Dave
  22. That a lot of stands and blinds on 72 acres they must be real close to each other.Dave
  23. Totally agree with your assessment.Dave
  24. Welcome you have entered the inner sanctum. Dave
