Opening weekend we got a spike and saw a couple doe. I wonder if this has to do with the bad acorn crop we had this year. Who knows. But it really sucks!!

Just got back from 4F - New Lisbon. Was there Friday - today and my group didn't see much. I spooked a 4ptr in the afternoon yesterday.... Not many shots in the area - I just don't understand it! Anyone hunt in that area & experiencing the same???? I know its big country in that area and the deer could be anywhere, but I expected a little more activity than this!!!

I got the PM ---- I did not know it was illegal to buy them from other hunters.... If that is the case i wouldnt do it.... And the reason I said 10 permits is because i though it was legal for each hunter to have two permits. If I have 5 hunters that would be a total of 10 permits... But again, if its illegal i wont do it. One quesiton - whats the difference of people trading tags vs a person buying them from someone who doesnt want their tag? Anyway its a mute point ---- I will not be buying any permits.... And I now have to erase my post on craigslist! Haa! Sorry all -

Has anyone came across any bear in the area? Never hunted 4F - trying to get a feel for whats up there.

New to the forum & new to zone 4F. I recently purchased some property in 4F Garretsville. Just wanted to know what the hunting is like up there. Can anyone provide some intel? I scouted the land and found lots of signs which makes me optimistic. Thanks

Hey all. New to the forum, been hunting NY state since I was a child (Oneonta & Goshen). I am looking to purchase some property in the Roscoe area, zone 4W. Im just trying to get a feel for the area. How is the hunting? How is the herd? I did some research and noticed that doe permits are hard to come by in 4W. Any info would be a great help. Thanks
