I am looking to get a grunt call but not sure which one to choose. Looking for a little help with this. Is it better to get a wood call similar to a duck call or something plastic? I am thinking simplicity is key and a small size beneficial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You will usually notice the scrape under a “licking” branch that is about 4ish feet above the scrape Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another example of a scrape If you look close (zoom in) you can see hoof scrapes this one is a few hours old as evidenced by the relative moisture content of the dirt BUT it was very recent as this particular morning was very windy yet notice the lack of leaves in the scrape Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

While bucks will and do poop in clumps, the clumps are more indicative of a predominantly mast diet (acorns and the like). I have seen (observed) doe poop clumps and bucks poop pellets, sooo.....I love finding lots of poop in an area, rubs or not, scrapes or not. If you find an area where the doe frequent, the bucks will follow. Fresh poop glistens and appears wet looking. That glistening is gone usually within 12 hours. The drier the older. Got my lights yesterday. So far I like mine (gave one to Little Squirrel). I spent a good five minutes looking for the charging port until I realized it was on the battery lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

60k btu gas fired furnace (forced hot air): $750-$1500 efficiency rating, make, and warranty dependent. Transition pieces to adapt to existing ductwork: $200 PVC for venting: $250 Adapt existing gas piping: $200 Installation: $1000-$1500 location dependent Contractor mark up ??? (30%ish) This is a rough estimate per unit and what I would expect to pay (my cost) I have been in the HVAV field for longer than I care to admit (30 yrs). A new furnace this size will typically run in the neighborhood of $3500 to $5000 installed, for the metro area. Hydro air (using a boiler and hot water coil) will be considerably more if the boiler has to be replaced as well. Perhaps the labor and mark up is less where you are. Just got settled into my stand. Had an emergency call come in at 3am and had to respond. Sucks being on call during deer season. Got almost 4 hours of double time but who cares!! I missed sunrise. Hopefully I’m not too late. Ok deer...I’m here...now it’s your turn lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Snuck into a spot I scouted this past Tuesday and hung a stand. Lots of sign all over. First time I was there found a fresh scrape and a few rubs, droppings all over. Today checked on the scrape and found a very fresh, like today fresh, scrape on the other side of the same tree. Did a little more looking around and found a very long rub line that passes within 25 yds of my stand. Little Squirrel wants to sleep in so I will be going in for first sit there tomorrow am. Hope the anticipation doesn’t keep me awake!
