  1. Two more woodchucks checked out this past week. Most of my kills are right by or literally in barns. I find the .22 magnum to be the perfect medicine for such an occasion. Minimal ricochet concerns and its not too loud. My grandfather uses a .17 hmr and it seems to do the trick. I like this savage 93 with a Redfield 2-7 on top. It tends to launch the 40 grain pills the best. The old Winchester super x 40 grain jhp shoot fantastic. I remember when they were 8.99 a box a few years back. .22 magnum has become one of my favorite rounds. Has just that much more pop than its little brother Long Rifle to really make someone smile.
  2. Dirty Work is one of the best movies ever. He was a true natural.
  3. Id love to get another nice buck with the crossbow this November. Most of all it’s about spending time with family and friends. As harvest time winds down everyone needs a break, not so much physically but mentally.
  4. If they both suck whats the better option?
  5. Im sure ill be out. Will probably use handguns only to challenge myself.
  6. Half hour before and after sunset is a game changer for rifle hunting. Bout time!
  7. Wouldn’t be anything left to mount after a 22-250 enema!
  8. Remington 700 bdl chambered in .223 Remington. Probably a 14 or 16 power Leupold on top. .243 winchester would be a close second.
  9. Couldn’t of happened to a nicer fella. His “Emmy” was a total joke in and of itself. Then again yes, entire family a joke and laughing stock.
  10. Agreed weird. Unless they are covering the plants up to deprive them of light.
  11. Smith and Wesson 29-2 .44 magnum. Im considering leaving long guns in the safe this year. Hopefully i have time to hunt with my 300 dollar ebay crossbow before the rifle opener.
  12. We dont allow it on out farms yet every year idiots ride through anyway. It really pisses me off. How come you cant ride a four wheeler anywhere in this state but sleds can go anywhere including the road ways. Total BS!
  13. Not much to do. Usually just make ton of noise lumbering in and hope for the best!
  14. Very nice rig you have there. I have limited experience with those scope caps. My brother in law bought a set and when tightened the cap flipped up crooked. It didn’t flip straight up, more like from the 8 o’clock position if that makes sense.
  15. Lots of hunters there. Wear orange. If I recall you are in the auburn area they’re a lot of other public areas. Although i will say i see a lot less vehicles around montezuma these days. Its worth a scout.
  16. Looking for a hunting rifle. Does henry offer a side gate .44 yet?
  17. Fair price and a timeless piece. Currently looking for a .44 mag if you have “one in the safe” your looking to thin.
  18. Very nice buck indeed. One for the hit list.
  19. We went to krings june 11th for ten days. I was told the water hasnt been that low since the 60s. I couldn’t believe it myself. Makes it difficult to take the boat out because of all the rocks sticking up higher than normal.
  20. My family has been going here for decades. We still go every year for at least a week. Highly recommend this place. Not to far from there is Black Lake, lots of cabins on the water there as well. Beautiful scenery around there. Having the Loons as an alarm clock is quite enjoyable.
