  1. Looks really good. How do you like the grill?
  2. Its great my wife and I shut the idiot box (tv) off, open the window and take turns looking at the wildlife. Some people just need to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Lots of beauty to take in, in a not so beautiful time...
  3. Unfortunately i have little to ZERO time in October to hunt due to apple harvest. I crossbow hunted for the first time last year and managed to kill this guy on my second day out. I didnt find him until a few days later. The snow melted and i lost my blood trail. Im now hooked. I borrowed my brother in laws Mission crossbow. Now i need to buy one!
  4. Some very nice prospects out in the field behind the house tonight. 6-8 bucks stroll through every night. I turn off the tv and grab the spotting scope. That big ten point has me drooling. The 8 point biting his own ass is no slouch however. These pics are taken on my phone looking through the scope. Not easy to focus but you get the point. Ill update throughout the summer.
  5. Im glad that set up works well for you. I have had scope issues while hunting in the rain or snow myself. Thats when my .357 mag come out of the shoulder holster. Hope to seen pics this November of your success with it.
  6. My grandfather who just passed on july 2. He was a deer slayer with an 870 wingmaster with open sights.
  7. Great story and beautiful guns. I have been searching for a remington 700 model made back in the early 90’s with no luck myself. I guess the search is half the fun! How is your cheek weld with those see thru rings? I could never get them to work well for me.
  8. My neighbor plants them on set aside plots to combat compaction. Plenty of deer have been killed over them in the late season especially.
  9. Looking good. Have you tried turnips? The farmer in me sees some rocks that need pickin!
  10. Those are the two i see most people going with. You will have zero issues humanely killing deer with those choices, tried and true.
  11. Very useful package there. What load are you considering for deer?
  12. Very jealous right now. Moose is my dream hunt. Looks great, thanks for sharing.
  13. Chicken was FANTASTIC. It was brined in sugar , salt, garlic, and soy sauce overnight. One of the best ive had. Skin was perfectly tender, very happy with the results.
  14. Got a can chicken goin on the masterbuilt. Using applewood of course. I decided on a can of root beer for the first time. Will report back with my findings.
  15. It will pull easier and have a better flavor if you sear before putting in the crockpot. That goes for any meat. On the grill is best if possible
  16. I was 21 when i got hitched the first time, Good/bad memories.
  17. You two look like kids in those pictures! Congratulations.
  18. The problem with pulled pork in a crockpot is you have no nice bark on the outside of the meat. Thats the best part.
  19. Take a spoor print. That will tell you a lot. If its orange or brown definitely not magic
  20. Do you sear your meatballs before you bake them? I do if im not feeling lazy. Makes for a nice crunch on the outside. Veal makes a fantastic meatball, enjoy.
  21. Love the rifle and optic choice. That will be a sweet little rifle. Hope to see some pictures of the whole package as well as a range report. Bet it shoots lights out.
