  1. Near the Cricket Town Road area. My brother who is a Park Ranger in Rockland also said they discovered 2 dead ones at the Haverstraw Bay Park down by the Hudson River. So to answer the question of will this spread? My answer has to be “yes” it seems to be spreading south. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I set a camera up in Stony Point after my area in OC was destroyed with EHD. Had a few good Bucks hanging out in a bachelor party all of September. Went to check the camera today in an area where few people have access to due to locked gates and found a decent Buck dead on the stream bank. We need a freeze ASAP. It seems have spread down in Rockland. I know there was reports of Harriman State Park as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I know theres a possibility that the deer who survive and reproduce can pass on some immunity, that seems to be what happens down south. After hearing that, NO, I will no be hunting my infected areas with the hopes to help future deer populations. My wife think I am nuts and someone else will hunt them anyway but I hope the hunting gods take notice of my efforts and help me in the future LOL. All the other questions are a crap shoot. I don’t think there is enough research to answer those questions and if there has been research done I have not come across it. Will it come back? My guess is probably based on the summer conditions, research does show that this is pretty common in dry areas (south) but the deer have some immunity. It strikes in the North every so often in certain areas that seem to have the perfect conditions that year. Also a side note: I have read two separate articles (from known publishers) where recommendations have been to take the smaller deer such as fawns and pass on mature does so they can reproduce. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have EHd rampant in my area. I still see small bucks, does and fawns. EHD seems to kill mature deer. This is what I’ve read and what I’ve seen in all my hunting spots in OC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It was 32 when I went to work the other morning in Rock Tavern at 0500. Not sure if we need multiple morning freezes to kill the midges. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Been saying it for 2 weeks. Glad you guys took the walk today. I live across from Stewart and my woods have smelled like death for a month!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Finally Yore the truth comes out! That only took a week of our Blood Pressure rising for no reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. North Rockland and Orangeburg. No signs of death in either area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Skeptical?!? Now I am skeptical a hunter wants to vote Biden into office with that sort of conspiracy theory thought process! On another note I work in Rockland county which is closer to NYC and checked 2 honey holes today that are still holding deer. Also, my brother who is a Park Ranger in Rockland has not seen any sign of EHD or has not responded to any call regarding the disease. His crew spends 30 hours a week in the woods, so thats good news! The problem seems to be “isolated” on the I84 corridor from Goshen, east towards Dutchess/Putnam counties. This all has to do with poor water quality so some towns may have been hit harder than others. Lastly, the only reason I found this forum was b/c of EHD. I googled it and found this talk. 14. I live in Rock Tavern in Orange County and between my neighbor and I we found 30 dead deer (bucks and does). All of our woods smell like death. Trail cams are nothing but raccoons and squirrels. We live 2 min from Stewart Preserve. This is real and its bad!!! Definitely going to take a few years to rebound.
