  1. 3S:

2pm get to my spot. Some guy yells from a car that it’s private property and I can’t hunt. I said I have permission. He yells I’m calling the cops.

230pm. 2 Cops are here. I showed them my licenses and explained who I have permission from. They let me go back to Hunting and are driving to the landowners house. Sucks. Wouldn’t be surprised if I can’t hunt here anymore.

  2. Yesterday a doe bout ran me over I was hunting a upper bench she was on the bench directly below me. When it got to the point with the two merged she cut up it directly and almost ran into me. I bleated to get her to stop......of course all the vitals were tucked behind a fat hickory. That's hunting.

  3. I sat until 11. Around 10 I had a nice doe come within 15 yards but she just would not leave the thick stuff. Even without taking any deer I have been having a pretty good season. Probably the most deer I have ever seen between Bow and regular season. Eventually one of these deer are going to mess up and offer me a shot.

    Were having the same season

  4. Ever get to a stand you think will be perfect and then realize as sun rises you cant cover near as much ground as planned?  Not that it has ever happened to me but I sure hope a Deer passes close by this morning.   Lol

  5. My streak is alive! I saw deer again today, unfortunately my streak of not having a shot also continued. In honor of the first thanksgiving I'm leaving the rifle home tomorrow morning and taking the bow to an archery only area.......thats got a work right?

  6. I don't often hunt the tower stand, opting to reserve it (and any local deer) for my kids. Not gonna lie, it's pretty cozy, especially on a cold rainy day like today! Maybe a little too cozy! Already polished off my lunch and a "mega" bag of jerky, all before daylight! LOL Still working on my thermos of coffee! Thinking about firing up the heater and kicking my boots off later!

  7. I agree....the old timers in the camp I hunt always want them hung by the back legs....no clue why just always did what I was told.

My grand grandfather told me that the Indians for rampo where he grew up said it was disrespectful to the animal to hang them by the head. They taught him to to hunt so........ he hung them from the legs, then my dad and now me. Funny how tradition takes hold. A processor told be better to hang by the legs so any contamination doesn't stay on the rumps. Of course skining too and I always to skin it as soon as I hang it. Each to their own

  8. Well not the biggest but my first bear. I have had the best yet most frustrating season blowing an easy shot on a nice buck to walking and walking more then I ever have. Found a spot I liked today and after 30 minutes this guy came running from my right to left 45 yards away about 10 yards into the thick swamp. I thought he winded me but my wind was good. On second thought before he came running in I heard a twig snap, I believe he was hunting as well. No clean shot but I heard him crash through the swamp and stop. I was so happy to just see the bear I didn' think about my grunt call. I waited a minute and did a fawn call twice and two minutes later he came out about 100 yards away. That was his last mistake.

  9. That's my day gotta pick up the kids. Saw a couple does in some thick stuff , but no shot. I can't complain I'm on vacation and I have seen deer every time I have been out just no shot opportunities. No worries plenty of time to get the Christmas deer. I guess the two shots I heard this morning connected, blood trail down at the parking area. At least somebody got one.🦌
