  1. Made some mistakes this aft and learned a valuable lesson. Don't hunt the deep woods stand early in season when its hott and no wind. Came in late but figured i would get to a stand i hing over a scrape last week that i had gotten two or three nice bucks on trailcam. Well i spooked three deer on way in. I believe all were bucks. One bedded down right off trail another midway up a ridge and a third was bedded down in front of my stand. Could make out his antlers as he was bounding away. Dohhh. Well i was sweating by time i got to stand. Doubt ill see jack. Gonna have to let this stand be for a while after tn

  2. Checked cam yesterday I hung up on a scrape last week. 1,200 pics later, Two or three different eight pointers one is definite shooter. Last pic of two bucks together was friday afternoon. Eight pointer keeps showing up between 7:15-8 rather consistently. Got a few pictures of bucks sparring and a fox with no tail? Lot of scrapes and several rubs around.

  3. Nothing like Long Island hospitality! Some of these **sholes that hunt real are scum of the earth. I just don't understand how you can take something that belongs to someone else and justify it to your self.

  4. Turning my shed into a makeshift processing facility. After butchering two deer last year its obvious I need to be better prepared and set up.

Picked up a electric hoist from horrible freight.

    Need:

-Meat Grinder (wanted a manual one but can't seem to find one with good reviews)

    - Decent hanging scale ( Can't seem to find a good one under 100 bucks)

I estimate doing at least three deer this year. Don't think that warrants and electric jammy

  5. Thats what I use. Be careful it says let clothes thoroughly dry before putting clothes on. Not sure why, but I try to adhere to it don't want to come out of the woods missing a leg or something... Stuff definitely is certainly potent wouldn't want to be drinking it thats for sure...

  6. Didn't get any (at least I haven't started itching yet) Sawyers seem to work for me. Think the key is to avoid high grass when possible. Oh yeah the forest floor was absolutely covered in acorns like ive never seen it before. Some huge ones too..

  7. Scouted some today. Pulled card on my camera, was a shitty set. Must have had over 150 videos of turkeys. Only one ratty six right behind a doe smelling her trail like she was hott, kind of strange for this time of year. Moved camera to a fresh scrape. Hopefully I didn't get chiggered up.

  8. Remington 870 supermag. (newly equipped with sureshot stock)w cantilever slug barrel and nikon omega scope or swap the barrel for my open sight barrel for closer quarters. Reservation for the 13th. Saw two bucks while driving yesterday, headgear still attached! tiny four and a decent basket 8

  9. 2nd to last chance with the bow tonight. Set up on a buck travel route...if I don't get it done tonight. I'll try for a doe tomorrow am. Not much meat left in.freezer. making venison chilli tonight for new years. Good luck to all who are not satisfied eating buck tags like me!!!

  10. Same here mbucks. Been a tough season for me. About all done. May give it ne more shot. Have a travel route pretty well figured out. Seems to be a core area deep deep in the woods. I'm pretty well burnt out and think my gf is pretty fed up too. Haha

  11. #1628!! Haha. So much for that. The whole process makes you not want to even bother. Putting all my efforts in to getting a buck down this weekend. Probably hunted over 30 sits this season. All I have to show for it is one Doe in the freezer. And she is almost all gone!
