I wear it only under outer layer.my hunting suit outerlayer is not heavy at all.I'm guessing my entire wearable weighs 11-14 pounds/not including my backpack
-
Not a problem at all.I just dont want some youngster/new gun hunter to get wrong ideas as how or what they should be doing. You are correct not every one keeps their muzzle of their gun pointed to the ground. this is another flaw in the guide of how to carry a firearm. We teach the wrong way some time's.
-
I have a full rainset that I use not the quitest but when worn under my outer larey helps myself sit or be out longer.like I have done for 23 years of deer hunting My buddy's and family still keep asking me how can you sit and be out all day and not get cold.I was just looking for other ideas for rainy/windy days in the wood's
-
Now that my question was derailed can we get back to how you all hunt on rainy/windy days
-
I'm not blind myself yes always saftey on till ready to shoot. Not Wearing orange or any other color is causing more risk?Like I said a Scope is for shooting not for viewing you are giving the new hunters/a wrong idea. You hunt your way and use what you think is the best option.
-
How would you feel if you were walking down a trail and someone was viewing your every move through the scope of their firearm?nervous I hope
-
I don't want to sound like an A$$ but there is a huge difference with bino's there is no chance at causing any harm or shooting a target not intended. With a gun/firearm/scope we all risk the chance in an accident/shot.I guess I was taught differently than some A scope is for shooting and not viewing also we have a lot of new hunters that will get wrong ideas as to how to properly use equipment.
-
You are joking about using your scope for viewing I hope.
-
Now you see me now you don't.That deer must have seen the Cat's movie my 9 lives lol!
-
Yummy You have gotten my attention. Are you taking any orders for them?Lol Smoked pickled fryed great tasting fish/a little boney but yummy.
-
How do you hunt on the rainy/windy day's?I ask because I'm a sitter do you find it best to gear up and go in at or before what would be sunrise-or wait until sunrise and start your hunt. Most deer movement is slow durring the rain so I have been told but I seen plenty deer up and browsing in the rain.
-
This is awesome to see Santa Hunting.PapaBear I am glad you got to enjoy your hunt It is Guy's like you that that keep me wanting to Hunt. This show's us younger hunters with the rite tool's/equipment we can do anything we want to be successful at doing.

Even soaking in water would'n't turn it that color

What or who is the processor cause some of the meat just don't look rite to me.Could be pictures but why is some red meat and other look's old.a few packs look like liver
-
I agree with ya!It's not that we have no Deer in the area either I think we have fewer Hunters.I have deer hunted in Dutchess county for 23 years and have seen a decline since I started/we have better gear and do most hunting from a stand then on the ground also have fewer private land access.I myself I'm a sitter go to my spot and wait for others to move and they do not do that to often anymore.I have seen many deer but out of range for the land I am Hunting.

leftover pork roast over biscuits with gravy and greenbeans on the side.
-
I think it maybe an arrow head carved from a joint bone unknown the animal.Could be tail end/bone
-
I found a couple swivel seats at tractor supply for 7 bucks each.
-
Tf I cook bigger meals than most was just thinking about what or how many meals from a single deer. For me about 20-30 maybe.I have had some deer only enough to feed 5 for afew meals
-
We have butchered them our self and still do.I had a bad exp with a local butcher/processor and the money we payed was not worth it.My question was aprox how many meals would you expect to get from 1 deer
-
Never really took notice myself but the average deer taken is about 140lbs,when butchered cleaned and frozen how many meals do you get from 1 deer?As a single person you will have more meals than a family of say 4.
-
That is the Cigar not very bad tasting/very mild but to dry for my liking.Stored wrong or out dated
-
Yes I do smoke them I have a liking for a Garcia if spelled correctly.I also smoke Swissersweet's on a daily for myself after work.I would smoke better higher class if I made the cash to allow that
-
I myself think I do the same. All the call's that I have used do not sound like any Deer sound I have heard over the years of deer hunting.I have gotten more deer to come in after rattlle/tickling antlers
-
Left over Turkey and all the fixing's.Then will be making soup to last the winter
