  1. Thank you .. Theses were covered in a heavy grease and not just an oil coating....
  2. I purchased 2 dozen new traps and in preparation boiled them today for about 5 minutes and skimmed off the nasty before pulling them from the water. Some turned a nice dull grey and a few look like they are still grease coated. Should I boil them again or treat them with a degreaser? I was avoiding any foreign chemical smells but want a light rust before dyeing... Any suggestions please....
  3. Kimber .308 , light and easy to carry all day in the woods.
  4. The tale of the "grumpy old men" . Reminded me of the movie!!!
  5. Sadly, unless you are sitting in it, it may disappear. I built natural ground blinds and that works.
  6. I always carry a fanny pack that has the shoulder straps. Easy on and off and one can easily carry a variety of items or just a few. When you climb or sit down your packets are not over stuffed with gear and goodies. The pack I have had many internal packets to keep gear from rattling and is soft quiet cloth.
  7. Congrats, My teen daughter want to attend her training next fall. It's great to get them involved at their age.

  19. A good season for me is when I have the time to spend in the woods with my family and friends. I always hope for good weather, good health and the time to just get away and be in the woods. It is a bonus when we can harvest and butcher any deer we take; I long for the fall every year starting about January and dream of trips to camp, wood fires, bacon cooking at 5:00 am and the laughter that comes at night while being together. All that makes a "good season"...... Happy holidays all !!!
