  3. Now, that is just plain UGLY !! Thanks guys the league has been great fun and helped my shooting greatly.... Turkey season is comming
  4. A couple of these in the West branch ?
  5. The Hyde will be waxed and ready to hit the water !!!!!
  6. In my league I started with the single target and now need to move to the five spot as I group them pretty tight. The arrows are now suffering because I got better ! Small price to pay I guess; There is a large group shooting and I believe this was the first one.
  7. Thanks guys, it gets expensive....... But the novilty was great and it was a dead center hit....
  8. I have been shooting in an 300 league for 7 weeks and last night made a perfect "Robin Hood" and stuffed a carbon arrow into another about 6" perfectly.... I think this may be a once in a life time event.....pretty cool !!!

    arrow rest.

I stayed with the whisker biscuit, I shoot in a league and it is accurate and has not torn the fletchings. The drop of glue at the start of the fletching does the trick. A few of the guys are staying with the biscuit as it is pretty bomb proof in the field. I shoot all year around what I shoot in the field. I shoot 70-80 arrows every Friday night with success. Just my .02 worth............
  10. How about that ! Those of us that have hunted the area for years know what we are talking about. Heck, if I went to my favorite restaurant and their plate were empty I would either, starve or move to a different area. Logging brings in jobs, revenue to the area and regrowth. I love nothing more than to hunt an area that was logged several years ago. Those are alive with browse and critters !!!
  11. The past few morning there have been several small flocks of canadas headed back North in the area. The robins are out on the bare lawn and it sounds like spring today with the song bird chatter out the window. Is it spring ???? Any one viewing any snow geese ???
  12. Nice pictures, keep them comming here !!
  13. One solution, know your target and what lies behind your target long before you pull up your weapon and certinally before pulling the trigger. There are no excuses ! Every year there are cases just like this.....
  14. I have hunted Hamilton County for nearly 35 years and watched the deer population drop each year. My take is the state "forever land" has no food. The woods have mature trees and they canopy the forest floor and no new browse will grow. There has been no lumbering or any type of activity to reverse this along with harsh winter kills, prediation (coyotes galore now) and we have no deer. The woods once were thick and brush filled and now you can see for hundreds of yards in open woods with very large mature hardwoods. In my opinion what needs to happen is selective logging....the state needs money..lets sell lumber. In Morehouse there are thousands of mature cherry, maple and beech trees standing to waste away and eventually become wind fall damaged..
  15. Well, my boy Skeet made his AKC Senior hunt test title last weekend and will be headed home from Florida shortly..... He went 4 for 4 in his JR and now SR title....very proud family here....
  16. I know that Cabela's did a very nice "pitch" to the Town of Malta (exit 12) several years back and were shot down as the town didn't want a "big box store". Based upon the scale of this project I firmly believe that they will picth this to Bass Pro or even Gander Mtn. The Town of Queensbury shot down the Gander attempt to be at exit 19 a while back where the old Howard Johnson's motel was. Again the town didn't want a second sporting goods store in the town....I guess all we do is wait and see here what developes.
  17. I support the project and also believe it will be a Bass Pro as well. Cabelas has no store that small in their chain. That would be better than any thing we have close now !!!
  18. I will grab you an application when I pick up mine?
  19. Announced at the Moreau Town board meeting that a developer wants to bring a large sporting goods store to a project in the town of Moreau. The announcement stated the exact square footage of the Auburn Bass Pro shop........one can only hope !!!
  20. Oh yes, cut thin coated in flour and fried wth bacon and onions !!!! Had an Adirondack deer several years ago that had a liver full of grubs !! That was kinda gross.....didn't eat that one....
  21. I believe Hudson Falls will have some this spring/summer. I am shooting in the 300 pt league there now on Friday nights !! My wife with her new "diamond" bow is kicking my butt though !!!! http://hffgc.com/
  22. I ranted all day Sunday and just can't let my blood pressure get that high again...........................all I can say is DISGUSTING !!! Dan
  23. Well it looks like the Edmonds Lumber company that offered the packages is gone; the phone number has been disconnected and web page is gone !!!
  24. Thanks guys.....................looks like I will have to do a little local "scouting".....
