Has anyone used the SPOT personal locator by itself or with the Delorme GPS? They have a deal going on right now for only $100. Just wanted to get some opinions.

Other than the Alabama swamps, anyone got a nice place to go hike/camp near Buffalo? Maybe somewhere I can take my Lab?

I used the ECWCS in my USMC days, but I bought some Northface base layers. They are very soft against the skin, stretch some, and have never ripped or torn. I can go sub-freezing in it with it, my reg. camo pants, and my fleece outer.

Being new to the area, and not much experience shooting geese, I was wondering any any of y'all might want to have a tag along on one of your hunts. Just looking to get into some birds and learn about it. The only birds I have hunted have been upland. PM me if you got any info.

There was a bad batch of o-rings that got out a few years back. I had one, they sent me new o-rings, i replaced them, and never had a problem.

I gotta say, that when I saw brown too, I thought some desk jockey made that decision because it sure wasn't someone who spends their times in the woods in fall.

I am planning a trip there in a few years and was wondering if anyone around had been and with who? I am looking to do an extended plains hunt. I can't afford the big 5 but I can afford to take 21 species on a plains hunt. Anyway, just looking for some tips and "I wish I had done..." stuff.

hold it for the guy that gets you paypal first. people on craigslist are the same way. so i tell them to put a deposit down on paypal. even if refund them the deposit, im only out 60 cents, instead of whatever.

we put honey on them sometimes if we needed a closer look at a rack or something. we saw lots of tongues then.

Some great pics. I really enjoy seeing deer grow year to year on the trailcams. GL on the rest of your herd. You giving "nasty" another year or two or going to harvest him this fall?

I bought the Leupold RX-750, but I paid around $300 for it. Being from Montana, I do still hunt in some rugged terrain, and often do not have trees to reference. I would totally suggest getting one that does have some angle compensation. Like anything else, you get what you pay for and I would totally suggest you spend a few bucks one something like this. I wish I got one that had red lit readouts. They weren't around when I bought mine. The red will contrast much better than plain black.

I have a Delorme too, best GPS out there. But the newest one has a satellite connection with SPOT. That's the one I'm curious about.
