  1. Just wondering what everyone uses in terms of broadhead target for crossbow..   I have an older large block target, but it is pretty warn out...

I want something that will effectively stop a bolt, is not impossible to remove bolts and isn't going to cost me a fortune..

    Let me know.

Did you guys know that I have a peep site on my bow? Do you know that you should look thru the peep when aiming at that heavy 8 pointer that's standing broadside at 18 yards?  I guess that I didn't know that either... sailed it a foot over his back!
Good news is that he never had a clue that I was there.
Rookie mistake. 44 years of hunting and still making rookie mistakes.

Anyone that has been at this game long enough has been there and done that..  I know I have...

  3. I don't want to tell you what to do, but if you want winter rye to be growing on 10/1, I would not wait until 9/15 or 9/16 to plant it...   I have been planting plots for a while now and mother nature is always a factor you need to consider...   Even if you get rain you will be pushing it...   If you get no rain after planting, you certainly won't have anything there...   It may work out for you, but I have learned to always plan for the worst...    Planting now is probably perfect timing to be ready for 10/1

  4. I always wondered how many drop tines "disappear" before horn harden up...    I always get a couple bucks with drops on camera every year, but it always seems to be when they are in velvet and then things dry up.

Do you often see the same?

  5. Colt Defender in 9mm...   Just feels good in my hand and really accurate

Weatherby Orion 20 Gauge O/U...   Had in for 25+ years and has always felt like it was made for me

Savage 220..   bought it the first or second year they made them and amazed a lot of people with how accurate a "slug gun" could be at 200 yards +....  Shot a lot of deer with it and I bet they didn't run 50 yards combined (and never had to pull the trigger more than once....  lol)

Got the same Coleman the marine cooler .  Works great.  Would never pay $350 for a cooler.  Hell you can stop somewhere to eat 10 times instead of taking food with you for that price.  And how often do you have stuff in a cooler for a week and not get ice...... Save money buy a cheaper cooler and be able to fill it with steaks instead of hotdogs! Lol.

I bought the same one a couple of weeks ago at Runnings on sale for $49.99...   I am shocked at how cold it kept everything and how long the ice lasted...   Plus, I filled it up and could still handle it by myself...

Going to look out for another sale and buy another...

Lastly, the hinges are metal and replaceable if needed..   Big plus in my mind

  8. for those with experience in growing corn...   I planted 3 acres of corn last week.   This will supplement the other planting I normally do...   my questions is the corn is Roundup ready...    How long do you wait before spraying and what is the correct mixture?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

  9. Just curious if you use a trickle charger on your ATV when not in use.

I have had a 2005 Polaris Sportsman for years and bought a new one last year..   New one has power steering and a "lot" of electronics...

The battery on the new one went dead on me last fall and I have very few hours on it..   I think either I or one of my buddies either left the key on or something..   Battery seems to be shot as it will not take a charge

Just curious if others have problems with battery staying strong or if you use a trickle charger when not in use.
