I'm just south of you a couple miles south of Greene and I have not seen any either as far as acorns go not many pics on cameras either.

Any hunt Tompkins County? Is there any decent state land around this area?

I know that any areas of the river marked for "fly fishing only" you must use fly fishing tackle only.All others areas of the river it would be ok to use any artificial lure,plastic or other wise, or live bait such as worms,minnows,etc.

Yes this true.Also it's been my experience that just knocking on a few doors and asking permission still works well believe it or not.
