  1. Boring was an understatement . I wass in a stand in Pittsford at 10 am . Saw a couple doe at a distance at 10:45 and 11:15 . Around 11 someone started using a bulldozer and quit at 1 pm . Somewhere around 3 pm someone entered the field at the East end and walked about 100 yards , headed north , then South and headed my way . He was carryong a crossbow and looked like the same DipWad that screwed up my hunting last year and he was smoking a cigar . I thought he would keep coming but he cut into the high grass and overgrowth about 60 yards away . I could see him south of me glassing the thick stuff . This guy NEVER looked up at the tree stand I was in and it has been there for several years . He came within 50 yards of me and was facing away . I hollared 3 times and called out the name of the person that I think he is but no response . I wondered if he was deaf . He came back out into the field and farted around looking into the thickets with his Binos . He left around 4 . At about 4::55 I was ready to get down . Instead of shooting my de-cocking arrow , I got out my practice arrow and thought I would give it a try offhand . I had one of the markers that the lawn service people use . I had painted the top orange so I could spot it and use it for a distance marker and to hold a lit scent stick . I stood up so I could sight offhand over the railing and aimed at the base of the stake . When I got down , I walked over to the stake to pull it out and retrieve the "bolt" . Didn't see it and pulled back some of the grass . I spotted some of the fletching and dug it out . I thought , holy crap , I missed the stake by a half inch . I really impressed myself ! Almost forgot . Between Smith road and Taylor road on West Bloomfield road , I saw 5 doe near the road 2-2 and 1 . They know when to come out . That's my story and I am sticking with it !
  2. Some dip wad was wandering around in the field and nearby with a cross bow and smoking cigarellos. He was within 50 yards of me and I hollared loud to the guy .he never flinched or responded . After a while I used the grunt call when he had his back to me and no response . I should have taken a phone picture when he was close . I did take some on my regular camera . 3. Someone has been running a bulldozer a couple hundred yards north of me . Was tempted to leave but thought maybe the deer would detour and come this way . Saw a doe cross the field 180 yards East of me a few minutes ago . View from the stand. . . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. Well , it's time to do another boring sit but this time I will try a stand in Pittsford . I plan to sit from maybe 10 am until sundown . I just need a deer to cooperate . Not sure where I will hunt Saturday . It looks to be one cccccold day Saturday . It's forecasted to be 16 degrees at 7 am . That's gun hunting temperature !
  5. I bought one so the last two weeks of my bow season would put me on an even keel with the other Crossbow Hunters . I don't like drawing my compound in cold weather and don't have to worry about that with a crossbow . Why use the compound when there is an easier way to shoot ! Although I will use a crossbow , I still don't want to see full inclusion .
  6. No sense in letting the stand go to waste . Why don't you give me the coordinates and permission and I will put the stand to good use .
  7. Sounds like a good plan . Takes the onus off of Bolt Action ......
  8. How many responses have you made to this thread pushing your agenda ? Hmmmmm As for stating that someone compares a Crossbow to a ML is rediculous . The reason you need a ML permit for a crossbow is due to the fact that it isn't being considered under the archery definition ( yet ) . To hunt with the crossbow , It has to be listed somewhere . You're beating a dead horse !
  9. Like I said above , I was #201 at our district voting in Ontario . I had to go to the Town Hall and asked one of the tellers how many districts we have and was told Ontario has 6 . At 1 pm 112 had voted there .
  10. I just voted in my district in Ontario. I was number 201 at 12 35 pm . I hope a lot of people vote . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  11. Sat in my 2 man chair blind for 2 1/2 hours . Had the wind blowing in my face . Didn't see anything . The swamp is really backed up and my friend has a boat out there so he can get to his duck decoys which he could normally wade to . The swamp just isn't draining . It's also clogged with dead trees .
  12. Can't believe how much the swamp has over flowed ..... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. Sitting in a double chair blind in the swamp. 45 more minutes to go. Nothing so far . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. Well , nothing else is working so I guess I will go to Walworth and sit out for close to 3 hours . The swamp has really overflowed and the wind is about 12 mph out of the North West .
  15. Great job G-man . The freezer picture is inspiring !
  16. I had planned on hunting my friend's swamp this afternoon . The water is really backed up as it has no where to go and the creek that it drains into is over flowing but has come to a stop . I told mt friend that he needs to invite Trump to his place "to drain the swamp" . I will still probably go there anyway to give it a try .
  17. Great looking buck , Grampy . Congrats !
  18. It has been raining in Ontario all morning .
  19. It is my understanding that there are changes to the NYS Constitution that can be made without a convention . I forget how many people would be involved at $79,500 each to spend a year looking for things to change and like mentioned above I wouldn't want the liberal commie pinkos to screw things up any worse than they are now .
  20. What a crappy day . I was in my 2 man chair blind with the X-Bow at 6:50 am with almost an hour to wait before legal time . Didn't see a damned thin all the time I was there . Called it quits there at noon . The woods was wet and muddy as the water doesn't run off . I didn't have the de-cocking bolt with me so I fired into a muddy clump with my practice arrow . Couldn't find it even after digging through the mud . It's probably in China . Took a break and headed for Mendon . Sat in a spot from 3 until 6 pm . No deer . At 5:55 a red fox came along the trail , stopped peed , and continued on . I think he was reminding me that I had 5 more minutes of legal time . Got permits to fill and the deer aren't cooperating . My youngest son was in a stand in Mendon from 9 am to 6 pm . Only saw 2 doe at a distance .
  21. So tell me again how the cold gets the deer moving . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
